I just bought a Tisas Stingray 9mm 1911. It has become my EDC. For comparison, I also own a Springfield Range Officer Champion in 45 ACP I still carry the Springfield from time to time. I went to the Stingray for the increased capacity and decreased recoil. I have not been disappointed. Thanks for the review.

Just bought that same Tisas a few days ago off consignment from a local shop, my first 1911 and .45. My son and I are heading to the range after I get off work in the morning to see how it shoots. So far I love the look and feel of the Tisas and expect good things from it.

I have the stingray and it hurts the feelings of many much more expensive 1911’s. I think Tisas is selling their pistols below their value (uncommon in this day and age) in an attempt to get their name out there. Springfield makes some amazing pistols (I enjoy my SA-35). So if the Tisas is keeping up with the Springfield then that in itself is a great compliment to Tisas. Great video. I enjoy your channel.

The first handgun I ever held was my grandfather's 1911 when I was 8 years old. That was 65 years ago and I have been in love with the 1911 ever since. I currently have 17, 1911s in my collection from 9 different manufacturers Colt, RIA, Springfield, Taurus, AMT, Iver Johnson, Llama and Browning. Both of the Brownings and 2 of the Llamas are what I call Baby 1911s, I have one each in 22LR and 380ACP from both manufacturers. And I just recently added a Tisas Stingray in 9mm. Bought it based on the reviews I had seen online, including yours. I have not had an opportunity to take it to the range yet, but a close examination and comparison to other 1911s in my collection shows me that the Tisas is easily the equal of any 1911 in my collection in fit and finish including both Colts. I don't have one of the full size replica 1911s like the, I think it is the GSG. But I have both a Kimber and a Colt ACE 22LR conversion units and when my budget allows I will build dedicated receivers for each of them. Thankfully there is no 12 step program for my obsession. One last comment. 2 of my RIA's are a widebody 22TCM/9MM and a single stack 5" 38 Super. I found that the 9mm barrel from the widebody fits and works just fine in the 38 Super and while the finish on the RIAs may not be as nice as the Tisas, they obviously have a close watch on their tolerances.

I really enjoy this video, I'm noticing 9 mm on 1911 frames are really becoming popular why pay all of that money when I could get a really quality weapon from Tisas. Once again great video, I envy people who live in the country because they can go out and shoot anytime as I live in the city and these indoor ranges are really picky on what type of ammo you can fire.

I have a Springfield 9mm 1911 "Loaded" I bought new in 2014 and it took a good 500 rounds to break it in. I lube it well so it runs pretty wet. That helps. My Colt Gov't Model .45 auto shoots better but its slide has a little play. I think Springfield's clearances are tighter, which explains the reason it needed a break in.
@2Afreedomrange4 ай бұрын
Thanks for the info friend.most 1911s need a break in period for sure.

I have the Tisas Stingray Carry .45 ACP. It is taking me a little time to get broken in on it. I have always been a revolver guy, mostly S&W N frame models in calibers that begin with 4. But this Stingray 45 is about to spoil me. It fits my hand perfectly and when I bring it up to eye level I'm looking straight through the sights. It is really fun to shoot.

I would chose the Sting Ray. The problem I see with the Springfield is that they make the barrels to be match grade barrels. However, they make the bullet chambers & speed ramps to only handle top quality bullets. Hence, the high bullet feed failures.
@2Afreedomrange Жыл бұрын
I would agree friend.
@rockylindgren5885 Жыл бұрын
What are you talkin about? Pretty much all Springfield have a proper feed ramp cut to .400 to .415 so what you're talking about doesn't make any sense. Tisas has ramps that usually measure out to around .360 which is the Ragged edge of usable because it can lead to timing issues where the bullet comes up too early and goes in front of the extractor. Chamber dimensions are definitely a thing though and you are correct about that but you're going to be better off with a Springfield 9 times out of 10 because of the strange internal dimensions on the tesis frames, for instance, look at their Factory grip safety versus aftermarket grip safety. It's a nightmare fitting anything--but Factory parts to a tesis a lot of the time. Some things work and some things don't, Springer's have the proper Dimensions ninety-nine percent of the time

You don't even have to shoot either one, I would buy a Tisas over the Springfield any day. Like I said in a comment on your channel once b4, I have 3 Tisas 1911's, 2 in 45 acp, and 1 in 9mm. And never have had a issue with feeding stove pipes etc. I also have a Springfield 1911 in 45 acp and have had feed & extracting issues. They have since been resolved, but for the money I paid, I should have been able to shoot with no problems. Anyone that buys a Tisas, is making a smart buy. Have a Blessed Day and my He keep you and your family safe.

Because Springfield is stingy, overpriced, pieces of crap! I have worked on over 50 of the Springfields that all need porting and polishing and new Shooting Star mags before they would run. On several of the Springfields I had to trim the slide release inside of the frame because it was so long it was sitting on top of the magizine causing failue to feeds or stovepipes. Go with th Tisaa ! They are great guns.
