Tish Daija: Over the Highland Pastures (Flute: Anna-Majlinda Spiro Piano: Dimitrios Marinos)

This is the final piece played in the Tirana recital (Concert Hall of the University of Arts, Tirana, Albania) in 21 March 2012.

ANNA - MAJLINDA SPIRO
Anna-Majlinda Spiro studied the flute at Onufri Music School of Elbasan, Albania (1978-1986). She made her artistic debut at the beginning of her studies, playing solo in the Albanian State Television (1982). In 1993 she entered the Athens Conservatory, where she studied on scholarship in the class of the Flute with professors Urs Rüttiman and Dimitrios Fotopoulos. In 1997 she graduated with a full marks degree with «Honors».
In 1994 she attended a master class course conducted by Alain Marion.
For several years (1986-1991) she was the principal flute of the Philharmonic Orchestra of Elbasan. She has given recitals, chamber music concerts and has collaborated with string ensembles in Greece and Albania (Tirana, Elbasan, Athens, Crete, Symi).
She has participated in many recordings both in Greece and Albania. In 1995 the Conservatory of Athens awarded her the prize for best interpretation in the flute.
Anna-Majlinda Spiro has been Professor of the Flute at the National Conservatory of Athens. She also taught as a visiting professor at the Municipal Conservatory of Heraklion (Crete) and at various conservatories in Athens. Currently, she teaches at the University of Fine Arts in Tirana as a visiting professor of the Flute.
She holds a degree from the Department of Education of the Higher Pedagogical Institute (now University) of Elbasan (1989).
DIMITRIOS MARINOS
Dimitrios Marinos was born in Athens and started his musical studies at the age of six. He studied at the Conservatory of Athens with professor and director of the Conservatory, Mr. Aris Garoufalis. He undertook a Master of Arts degree at the Royal Academy of Music in London, studying with professor Pascal Nemirovski.
In July 2006, he won the prestigious "Gina Bachauer" Scholarship competition for young Greek piano soloists. He has given recitals in Greece, UK, Istanbul and has performed extensively as a chamber musician. Apart from his musical studies, Dimitrios studied Physics at the University of Athens.
As a soloist, Dimitrios cooperates regularly with the Athens State Orchestra. Future plans include solo and chamber music concerts around Europe.
Dimitrios Marinos holds the position of the Administrative and Secretarial Supervisor of Athens Conservatory.
