They were pretty courageous going such a dangerous club like the Danceteria. That place was closed down in the early 90s because of so many assaults and fights that always broke out there.

@@annother3350 WRONG.....Dick Richards was Nelson's best friend, or A friend anyway who for some reason took up the cause of RuPaul and talked Nelson into giving him a place to stay....and like he did EVERYONE he knew, he took advantage of the situation.....even staying in Nelson's house after he died and Nelson's brother Mark had to have him and LaHoma evicted to get Nelson's belongings out.....there would be no videos if Mark and Dick Richards had not preserved them and after Ru Paul got in good with Fenton Bailey he dropped Dick Richards like a bad habit.......Don't be fooled....the story that you have been fed is total bullshit made up for the drag race show.
