There's a little detail that I think gets overlooked with this moment. In the film's opening before Earth's destruction when Cale's a child Korso's driving the vehicle that transports him and Prof. Tucker to the launch site and Cale childishly asks "I wanna drive?" and Korso replies "when your older kid". So this scene was basically Korso keeping his promise to let Cale drive the vehicle only its a ship instead of a car.

One of the things I love about this scene, aside from Korso letting Cale drive, is the fact that the "angels" are also having a blast flying around with the ship. It's basically two species having fun together in space, something you barely see in any space movies these days.

Had a toy of it when I was a kid. Between that and the X-Jet form the live action X-men movie, the Valkyrie was more fun to play with.

@@Kyle-fp5lmironically the Valkyrie reminds me of the X-jet, but spaceship version.

@@stingmon93 it does, doesn’t it? Perhaps the designer was inspired? The final design was a good choice.

One of my favorite movies of all time! I like to think instead of aliens vs predators like creatures that are there in the universe, maybe there are ghost-like creatures like these wake-angels in the universe out there just floating in space. Like how we have the space whales from Asoka. Just think what space creatures are out there. Or if that’s even remotely possible.

I realy like the symbolism woven into this song , they must by passing through an area of space with some sort of atmosphere present as the starship is behaving like an aircraft , A ship in outer space would be in the vacuum of space and would not fly like aircraft at all . (It is a common issue for sci-fi film makers to make starships "Miminc" aircraft flight where they bank and pitch and roll like an aircraft with wings) They even do this with the ships in star trek, since there is no dense gas like air for the ships wings and control surfaces act upon , ships in space have to use thrusters of some sort to change there headding..

When I watch this, I thing about the kind of content made in our modern era, and I think ‘was this really made in my lifetime’? It’s sad how much animation and storytelling has gone downhill in only a few decades.

Nah man we got invincible, Ark, Xmen 97, critical role a few others and anime has taken its place , good animation never went anywhere
