The chain wraps around the bucket with chain binders so the forks wont bend your lower bucket lip when you pick up a load with the forks.

These forks will work on a subcompact tractor, if you realize your limitations upfront! There's no way that a subcompact is going to handle 4000 pound stuck out in front of the bucket.
