The whole thing always needs grease and its a never ending process

@@LivingCommonSense Your not wrong! The top plate on the forklift we use at work has a significant layer of grease on both the top and bottom rails

I just bought the same forks. I’d like to see how you secured the back, bottom to the loader mechanism. You did that kinda quick and didn’t show the result on the backside. I will confirm that at 300 lbs it is heavy! I also liked the “Headache Bar” and towing receiver features.

I have the 120R loader which uses lynch pins to secure the bottom of the bucket to the loader. The pallet fork bracket uses the same lynch pins to secure the bottom of the loader as well. I read plenty of reviews before buying to make sure it would work with the 120R loader. It fits like a glove. At 2:26 you can see the lynch pin as I secure the fork bracket to the loader. BTW, practice lowering the pallet forks. You'll find a sweet spot in the loader controls that slowly tilts the pallet upward as you slowly lower the pallet at the same time and the pallet stays mostly level until it gets to the ground. A ton of fun. I store everything on pallets now 😂 Thanks for watching!

Have you encountered any situation where you could have used a lighter set of forks?
@LivingCommonSense Жыл бұрын
@marvinjacksion - Absolutely yes. These probably make up about a third of the total lift capacity of the loader. At times I could stand for them to be a little longer though that would add weight and lifting way out on the end would mean lifting less over all. These are a good compromise, heavy for this tractor but should be adequate if I get a larger tractor in the future.

@@LivingCommonSense I ordered mine today. The other forks like these were a little lighter (approx. 100lbs.) But without the headache rack or receivers built in. I chose to sacrifice some weight in return for more versatility.

@marvinjackson - Cool, I've only used the receiver once mainly to try it out and the headache rack when using the forks to move some brush, otherwise its a lot of dead weight.

You need to put some ballast weight at the rear of your tractor, the way you do it is no good for the front tires
@LivingCommonSense3 жыл бұрын
I definitely need more rear ballast for rear wheel traction and overall stability. The rear wheels had a tendency to spin (2WD) when I picked up the dog house. I have also read that inadequate rear ballast can damage the front axle components has you say. It is not clear to me how rear ballast helps the front axle as it allows me to pick up more weight with the FEL and thus adding more weight to the front axle. I can see how the axle and components can be "torqued" as it becomes the fulcrum when the back wheels come off the ground. I do not see how rear ballast drastically reduces front axle weight but at the same time many decades of experience proves rear ballast can alleviate stress on the front axle. I assume it reduces some lateral loading the front axle is not designed to withstand. Thanks for the tip!

I've never called them...I figured these forks were simple enough that it would be hard to mess them up,
