After the sinking of the Titanic, ships were sent out to recover the bodies still floating in the North Atlantic. Those deceased were either given a proper burial at sea or were brought to Nova Scotia. Most of them were then buried in 3 different cemeteries in Halifax. While traveling through Nova Scotia, I had the opportunity to visit the graves and pay my respects.

I assume they may have been inside the ship and perhaps parted from the baby, with such a large family. Considering it was a family, they’d be at the stern and fortunately not suffer nearly as much as those whom could not escape the bow and were slowly drowned. At the stern, after the breakup, 10 or 20 seconds after the stern went under there was a large thump from the wreck, and it is believed that was the airpockets escaping, so they would not slowly perish and drown. I assume should they have remained with him we would have found one or both of the parents and the children huddled together. Although, in spite of this, I could not imagine the horror. I come as an only child and I believe my family would have had the fortune of traveling in first-class should we have lived in this time, so we would not have the fear of not knowing how to get to the lifeboat decks & climbing up the stern ladders one-by-one with the hope of getting to an aftward lifeboat.

In the early 2000’S they dug up his grave to see if they could get any DNA but there wasn’t a lot left but a few teeth and a bone. The shoes were donated to a museum after an officer saved them and his family held onto them almost 100 years before they donated them. They were able to get DNA from the shoes and match it to one of his teeth. And then with that they were able to find his extended family that was able to provide his name and confirmed he had died that night.

This was a piece of history I taught my kids in homeschool that they didn't understand why it was so important. I made them watch the movie. I told them it was a day a freak accident that ended tragically. I've watched alot of history shows on the titanic and its sad that so many died that day. I pray all are in heaven.

Thanks for this. Never thought I'd see Titanic content on this channel. Ever since I was a kid I always want to visit the graveyard but I'm in America. Titanic has been an obsession since childhood because all the stuff that happened that night tales of survival and tales of Courage. Imagine being woken up and being told to put your life jacket on, go up on Deck and all the lifeboats are gone. What do you do. Women separated from their husbands. People in third class trying to find their way around the Maze of endless corridors unable to escape. It's an incredible story. There have been many shipwrecks throughout history and Titanic just seems to stay afloat when it comes to relevancy. I would recommend checking out the Titanic honor and Glory project. Very good stuff these guys are doing for the history of the ship and for future Generations. Good day.

@@MobileInstinct Thanks! How everything just went wrong all at the same time. Things aligned perfectly for it to happen the way that it did. It's sad and incredible at the same time. They're still debates on things like how it broke in half or what song was played song of autumn or Nearer My God to thee. Which version? The questions without a straight forward answer, the mystery, the story, It at all just keeps Titanic very much alive. I love your content by the way. I wish I could travel like you do. Seems like a fun life exploring, traveling in hot air balloons, visiting abandoned places. All recorded and documented. I'm jealous! :)
