if you cook in the pot, like I do. Snow peak all the way. The toaks has that annoying ridge on the bottom that is so hard to clean food out of when you are scraping the bottom of the pot. The snow peak has a flat bottom like any normal pot.
@coaroas92433 жыл бұрын
Yup! I've scoured the Snowpeak multiple times. I only boil water in the toaks.
@flxseatosky19842 жыл бұрын
Because the thermal conductivity of titanium metal is not good, the bottom is thin and easy to paste, and the bending of the bottom is helpful to the heating efficiency and increase the heating area
@nedsled29942 жыл бұрын
@@flxseatosky1984 I'm just talking about the tiny little 2mm ridge in the bottom of the toaks pot. The snow peak is made with a little bit thicker metal and has a flat bottom that does not get food caught in the ridge. If you are just boiling water, bith are fine but if you cook in your pot the toaks is annoying. I have both.

I think your calculations for the oz and grams is incorrect. Grams should be a larger number than the oz.

Thanks for the video. Do you happen to know if the Snow Peak HotLips' silicone edge cover will fit the Toaks 450ml cup.
@coaroas92433 жыл бұрын
That's a good question. I'll have to measure the diameter. Although, the lip around both are different. So I don't know if it clips in or slides over.

@@coaroas9243 thanks for the reply, I’m guessing it likely will not work unfortunately but next time I’m at REI I’ll double check.

@@bemindful5511 it works, I have both pots. But it is a little loose compared to the fit on the snow peak.

stainless or titanium? what you think? thanks for the vid keep up the good work. helpful!
@coaroas92433 жыл бұрын
Titanium, for sure. Lighter, more efficient with heat, and Toaks is dirt cheap. Don't get me wrong, stainless has the advantage at upkeep, because it's easier to scour. Just don't walk away while the hot chocolate is heating up. Just boil water when you can and pour in a bag.
@DKMelonMan3 жыл бұрын
@@coaroas9243 Thank you ive been debating it! I'll roll,with the titanium.
@Soho-Fart3 жыл бұрын
@@DKMelonMan Titanium cookware is only really good with heating soup or water. Titanium is not very conductive with heat so when you try to fry stuff on the surface it will stick a lot because heat is not displaced evenly so you get lots of hot spots. whereas steel is going to spread the heat a lot better on your pan/pot. Just depends on your cooking style, if you're going to cook soup or rehydrate dry food then titanium and if you want to do traditional cooking (with a small sacrifice of slower cooking) stainless steel. hope this helps you :)

Toaks is made in China. Snow Peak is made in Japan. That speaks for itself.
@Graeme7582 жыл бұрын
And what does it say? You can clearly see that it's a perfectly decent quality cup. What does the Snow Peak have that the Toaks doesn't? A little less weight? If they are the same capacity and the same dimensions that can really only come from using less materials. So perhaps the Snow Peak is thinner walled. Personally I have bought the Lixada versions. Exactly the same item as the Toaks, several different brands by the generic titanium items and put their own branding on them, just about 30% cheaper. The Snow Peak has nothing to offer for it excessive price, made in Japan or not.

I try to avoid Chinese made items. Their continued disregard for trademarks, patents, overall material integrity, human rights and their association with Russia. I prefer cooking and eating out of products made in a country where form, function & quality are highly valued.

the snow peaks you have have visible protuding welding points inside the mug wall? I have noticed that the ones 450 single wall I bought from Amazon have not any welding points protruding but the ones I bought from Taobao china has many protruding welding points inside, Now I am beginning to think the Taobao ones(like yours)are fake and made in china, because the real ones should not have any bad protruding welding points inside the mug wall and they shoul be made in Japan!
