Very good general advices here. I like to break down a battle in different phases : moving to a good spot (a bottleneck), turtling up and slowly reducing enemy numbers, and then when you clearly outnumber them, go all out for the final charge. Sometimes you'll be recharging your TPs in order to be able to unleash them on your foes later. Kinda like in a gunfight where you would go trigger happy and then ducking and reloading, and then attacking again.

Absolutely, I'm glad you agree! TS is a game that absolutely encourages and even expects a very careful advance, especially on Hard. It has punished me a few times now for advancing too quick or too aggressively, it's so good.

great tips video! I had a hard time on normal and had to turn some battles to easy, like the last one, hopefully these tips will help my ng+ run. I definitely need to focus more on turtling and maintaining a defensive formation

I'm glad I can help! I have absolutely found that the best strategy is to maintain that strong defensive formation long enough to pick off a few key targets, which makes it much easier to then push in and start making more aggressive moves. It's like chess in that way, where the start of the "game" or battle in this case is all about careful poking about the edges to secure an advantage.

I will say as a complaint, maybe as a old guy who loves srpg, they spend WAY too much time on things that you just can't skip in the start of the game. too much story and tutorial between the first fight and second will drive people away.

I didn't expect this game to have so many in between things and so many choices. at first I was thrown off by it but had to change my mindset to how I was playing FE3H instead of tactics ogre or fft where battles happen a lot more than story. still on the fence.

Great video, man! I’m new to tactical RPGs, I came to this one because of how much I loved Octopath. This was really helpful. I’ve been rushing into battles and mostly been getting my ass kicked. I’m also playing on hard, but medium was a bit too easy.
