Cain in his prime was the best HW ever no one had all the well rounded tools he had with the heart and stamina he had. Lol Fedor wasn't old at all, he was 33 when he fought Werdum. Stipe is the champ and arguably in his prime (heavyweights have a late prime since they don't rely as much on speed and movement) and he is 37. And his biggest rival is 41, so I have no idea what you are talking about
@gregfalco45284 жыл бұрын
@@benlewis5312 Not everyone ages at the same pace. Some fighters' skills drop significantly after 30, Fedor was one of them. I remember before the Arlovski fight (where he was outboxed for a couple minutes before sending Arlovski to the Shadowrealm) I read an interview with one of Fedor's coaches where he said Fedor couldn't do the same things in the gym that he used to, and that the end of his career might be looming. Sure enough, a couple years later he's getting knocked out by middleweight Dan Henderson, Gigantism victim Antonio Silva, and your fave fighter, Fabricio Scrubdum.

Greg Falco I have no love for Werdum, but Fedor didn’t get old. Worn out, sure. He was on an almost 10 year win streak, it’s completely understandable. And I’m sure he trained too hard. But he didn’t get too old, that’s ridiculous. Even Anderson Silva didn’t lose his belt until he was 38, and his entire style relies on fast reaction times and agile movements, both of which are hugely benefited by youth

@@benlewis5312 Anderson SIlva fell out of his prime years before he lost. Watch his early fights against good strikers like Lee Murray, Jorge Rivera, Tony Fryklund, Rich Franklin....his speed was insane. The headkicks he was catching Lee Murray with moved faster than the punches of most middleweights. By the time he fought Patrick Cote at 33, you could tell he had slowed down. That's why he started waving his opponents forward in those later fights, because he needed the other guy to come at him to catch them with a counter. When he was in his prime, it didn't matter if they were moving forward or backwards, he was fast enough to catch them either way. At least that's something non-cazzies would notice

DC the greatest. His legacy will age like fine wine. No controversy, no asterisks; just the gamest, baddest man to do it. At 5'10 and in his late 30s how can you deny him. Natty GOAT

Cain Velasquez measured by “skills” was undoubtedly very very great. But, by resume, I really don’t think he’s in the heavyweight GOAT conversation. Am I crazy?

He loss to DC, and Fedor
@MrPjspacejam5 жыл бұрын
Donald Cerrone has almost every UFC record to date but I don't think that makes Cerrone arguably the greatest p4p UFC fighter of all time or even the greatest UFC lightweight fighter of all time. Frank Mir got wrecked by JDS, dominated by Overeem, outclassed by DC, smashed by Carwin, steamrolled by Barnett and even got crushed by Lesnar in their rematch. Pretty much all of those fights mentioned were extremely lopsided losses for Frank Mir. I'm not counting Frank Mir's losses to Fedor, Hunt and Arlovski since he was way past his prime in those fights ( even though so were Fedor, Hunt and Arlovski themselves ). Sure, Frank Mir has some big wins at heavyweight like his wins over Big Nog ( twice), Cro Cop, Congo, Sylvia and Lesnar in their 1st fight but Frank Mir's several extremely lopsided losses against elite heavyweight competition outweighs his grand success at heavyweight. Frank Mir has been destroyed by top heavyweight fighters way too many times for him to be in the argument for being the heavyweight GOAT.
