Let's take time to acknowledge that TJ Miller used his on air interview time to talk shit on a reviewer who believed word for word every single thing TJ Miller said in a stand up special... Amazing.
@yashiAR7 жыл бұрын
I really love that Stephen lets the guest do their thing and just goes with it every time, which always brings out the humour. Also i truly admire the quality in people, esp comedians who whole -heartedly accept the criticism and then deconstruct the criticism, making it hilarious rather than in any way humiliating.

TJ is right about Ardie. I showed up to the Comedy Cellar late one night with a couple buddies and Ardie Fuqua was chilling at the bar with half a birthday cake. I didn't know who he was. We came that night because we heard that Louis C.K. had been popping in regularly to test out material for a new special. We sat down at the bar and started soaking the place in. Small upstairs bar with chalkboard bar tops and chalk on the ready. Ardie turned to us and said, "hey we just had a birthday party and I have some extra cake if you guys want". So we ate cake and drank beer. It was great. Immediately after that we went downstairs for the late show and Ardie opened and did crowd work. He is a funny fucking dude. My buddies and I spent a week and a half day-drinking and then walked aimlessly from dive bar to dive bar at night around NYC. Every once and a while we would run into a New Yorker that was almost disappointed we were there. I got called a tourist with a negative connotation so many times... We brushed it off and immediately started referring to anyone who said shit like that to us as "the cunts". Louis didn't show up that night but we did meet the super cool and humble Ardie Fuqua. Leave it up to a comedian to make us feel at home in NYC.

IF he spent $73,000 on carnival games, and an average of $3 per game, that's 24,333 games. At an average of 5 minutes per game, that's exactly 2000 hours over the course of the year - about the same as a typical 40 hour workweek, given a couple of weeks of vacation per year. A strong work ethic, indeed.

If you assume playing a game takes 5 minutes then it would amount to roughly 85 days of nonstop playing time ie a little under 3 months. Which I would guess is about as long it takes to shoot a season of Silicon Valley, funnily enough :D

I remember when people freaked out in TJ's Colbert interview; you guys still think he won't be invited back? You don't invite someone on the show without knowing how they operate in an interview. People will quite literally set up a special set if Eric Andre is invited on certain shows to prevent him from hurting someone when he eventually goes totally insane. Interviews 'gone wrong' or where 'the host hates his guest' are super popular online and somehow it even counts as news so expect to see a lot of people copy that kind of viral marketing.

Reality has become absurd. "When the going turns weird, the weird turn pro"- Hunter S. Thompson. Comedians reflect reality back on itself. Having a sense of humor is being able to laugh at ourselves, and there is real healing in that act. "Don't try to bend the spoon. That's impossible. Only remember the truth..." "...There is no spoon"- "The Matrix" based on the book "The Mind's Eye".
