Excellent video! I had totally missed the point that Sherlock's chair in TAB is a combination of his leather chair and John's comfy chair in 221B! what a great catch! Also what the sitting on the arm of the chair pose indicates. wow, this fandom! :)

I don't think the creators really thought through or started pushing the chair metaphor so much until season 3, but it's also worth noting that the chairs kind of even LOOK like John and Sherlock? Like, John's chair looks super comfy and warm, a bit old fashion but trusty. The pattern looks like something he'd wear. Sherlock's chair is dark, way more modern, maybe even a bit futuristic and a bit funky looking. Just me?

Thank you for this one! I have seen the chairs as symbolic from the beginning. Sherlock's is cold (metal, grey leather) which represents Sherlock's calculating mind. John's is lower to the floor, thickly padded, warm (red), with an extra pillow with the flag (representing his service to Queen and Country as a soldier) -- but it is definitely more comfortable-looking, welcoming, comforting. Their positions speak volumes, too: placed by the hearth (the "heart" of the home) with John's closest to the kitchen (again, considered to be the heart of a house because it is the source of nourishment, and food can equate to comfort as well as to sex...but John has also been more associated with the kitchen, checking the fridge, complaining about the marks on the table, buying groceries or knowing what needs to be purchased). Sherlock's is closer to the windows, which represent vision, looking out onto the world (he plays violin in front of the windows, he watches people on the street -- including John -- and he even gives his "man out of time" line in front of them; when the explosion happens across the street the windows blow inward, knocking him down). Note that when Sherlock removes John's chair he claims it's to get a better view of the kitchen, which would still remind him of John but he can't remove it and that probably frustrates him/breaks his heart more. Further telling of the kitchen being John: Janine asks John to make them a cuppa after her sleepover, John can't find anything because it's all been moved around -- this makes him feel lost in a place where he should feel at home, and makes him question his place in that home and particularly Sherlock's life (as Sherlock is still there), because his chair is still missing at this point. I agree with the speculation that Sherlock moved the chair into his bedroom because it would be too bulky and cumbersome to move up to John's room, and he also moved it back when he came out of hospital so he wasn't in the best of health to be hauling it down the stairs. John's chair in Sherlock's bedroom...hmm...someone call Arwell to confirm this! :D

Well, those colours are in perfect SMPTE order. LGBT Pride flag has another pattern and there is less number of colours. I think 'SMPTE colour bars' in teasers is a kinda hint about Moriarty's return. The JohnLock idea is a very good one, but I doubt that everything in Sherlock is about this idea) There are more interesting things and it's cool. Maybe Mofftiss are lying about "JohnLock is not going to happen" and maybe they are not lying. But even if they are really going to make it Canon, their plot is more complex, more interesting and deep than just "it's all about Johnlock only".

Furthermore - every trailer so far has rainbows :) Lots of them. As for color bars - no, I don't think so. The romance line is one of the most important, and they know very well what these colors mean. It would be another point of shameless querbaiting.

Well, yes - every trailer/teaser has "rainbow" colours but not the LGBT ones. Look closer at "it's not a game anymore": there is a SMPTE pattern in a "triangle order" - white, yellow, cyan, green, magenta, red, blue. LGBT colours are red, orange, yellow, green, blue, violet. LGBT colours are a bit different and in another order. That's the fact. I don't say anything about if the romance line is in there or not. I see the great and strong love between the Baker Street boys. I can see the greatest friendship ever and I can see the romantic love (since the very beginning and long time before any kind of analysis of the plot). But we can't be sure that a romantic relationship is the story they are telling us. I am pro Johnlock but those colours are more about the dark line of the S4 than about the happy one, I think. Because those colours are really not look like LGBT pattern, alas. Is the romance there? I think so (I may be wrong). But there are also other things, so teasers are related to these other things. It would be really boring if the show was about the romance only. And yes, sadly enough, but there is a possibility that it is a queer-bating. I do hope a queer-bating is not the case but let's be realistic: it is possible.
