I worked that boat 14 years ago. Belonged to Horst Fischer then. Timor Box Western Demersal. Little trick for you. When you get swimmer crab as bycatch smash it into the next bait basket and get big Red Emporer. Bait spoils fast in the warm water so soak time can be short as 6 hours. Churn and Grind. Good luck

I am thinking a short handled pitchfork with the ends ground down for getting the fish out of the ice bath and a T ended rod with a flattened ended hook on the other end for pulling the fish tubs across the deck

We have a rake type thing we use now.

Where you have the blue ice chests for slurry used to be a cold brine tank next to it was deep freeze walk in bait freezer and port side was walk in ice chest with icemaker through roof from deck above. The old girl has changed a bit.

Dice up your fish and soak in lime juice for a hour or so. Drain off the excess lime juice and add diced red onion, capsicum, spring onion and tomatoes. Add a table spoon if sweet Thai chilli sauce and cover with coconut cream. Delicious

Hey mate, love these vidoes. Always loved fishing. What do you use as bait in the traps? Any troubke with sharks in the traps? Cheers
@tkoffshorefishing6 ай бұрын
We are using mackerel for bait, it's got a great high oil content. No sharks in the traps for us yet although it does happen. We have bronze whalers circling the boat day and night though

TK why don't you brain spike the fish before going into the slurry? The Western Australians and Queenslanders do. Maybe see You Tube by Seaforce in NW WA and compare the colours of the fish upon landing. Just a thought. Great video as always.

@jase4270 usual over reach of government. It's cloaking out the entire industry state side with regulations, etc. So tight ppl can't make a living anymore
