Thank you, thank you, thank you for this video. I have the 4052R and I just about drove myself insane trying to get the air filter off with it facing back towards the cab of the tractor. I'm high strung about poor designs haha. I actually had to take off an air hose to get mine out. Your video was very helpful.

Surprised I didn't do that, I always remove the fill cap on my vehicles when draining. Guess I got side tracked with recording.

Great JD presentation and Vid info: practical, easy to follow and understand. I have a 4066r too and would like to try ordering filters and such from Amazon. I can't seem to find the connection to your Amazon store. Would you please share here? Great tip to check the cabin air filter more often. Have you ever thought of designing a cabin air recirulating sytem, instead of drawing only outside hot and dirty air? I live in a hot area as well, and am having trouble with over heating when PTO grass cutting and brush hog'n, even keeping the grill and filters clear. I have gone down the trouble-shooting list short of changing the termostat. How's your"s? Thank you!

I own the 4066R and watched a video you put out showing your home-made fuelling support to make it easy to fuel the tractor. I have spent most of the evening trying to find the video of you fuelling. Before I blow a nut trying to balance on the back of the tractor while holding the gas can, I’d like to simplify it by your method. Would you happen to remember the video showing you fuelling your 4066R?

This is my biggest complaint at Deere tractors. I wish they just made a one piece hood that raises up. When I bought my 60 hp tractor I bought a red one for several reasons and one of them is the headache of getting to anything on my 1 series. Good tractors just poor designs on some stuff. Nonetheless great video. Keep them coming

They are almost all on the loader arms. Most of these newer tractors have everything sealed.

One thing I check often is the loader mast bolts they come lose pretty regularly

Sure don't, but I really considered a Kubota when tractor shopping. Believe it or not it was the treadle pedal that was a huge turnoff for me, I can't stand doing my foot forward and backwards on one pedal. I do love Kubotas full lift up hood for service.

@@TKCL I have fat/wide feet, so when I tried the dual peddles, me and my fat feet and not the best coordination would manage to get both peddles. So, the treadle pedal worked out better for me. Looking forward to more tractor videos. Have a great day!

How about a service for the fuel tank filter. Our 4044M has been bogging down and one guy said it may be the fuel tank filter. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

That's a whole different problem to deal with. If you have the open station, you will have to remove the entire tank to flush it out and unscrew the little screen filter in the bottom of the tank. A horrible design in my opinion.

There is a flexible funnel on Amazon that works great for catching the oil as you remove the oil filter. I believe it's called Crazyo Flexible funnel.

I find it easier to remove the loader for all round servicing if you have a quick attach loader system.

I do, other than the funnel I find it OK to just leave it on. I can see why some people take it off.

I've never found the manual to be accurate. If you read on the tractor forums there's a ton of complaints about the quantity being off.

Do you ever pull off your loader for servicing? Mine comes off in seconds...but mine is a 2 series Deere. It does make for an easier job. Thanks for the video! btw. I recommend writing the date and hours on filter with a grease pen. Makes it quick to keep up with scheduled maintenance.

No I have not, I'm quite comfortable working around it and haven't found where it's in my way enough to justify removing. Although yes it does come off quite easily

Take the loader off. The loader is considered an option, this is why your manual assumes it isn’t even on the tractor.

I know you can take it off, but it's quite easy to service as is. Especially once I set the funnel up as I have it. If I ever need to do more than an oil change, I'll for sure take the loader off for complete access.

Do not use A air gun or electric impact to install the oil pan drain plug.

Am curious why you didn't take loader off first? Seems it would be a lot easier? Am also curious what you have holding rifle in place inside cab? Have been looking for something to hold a coyote killer

I personally find it quicker to not remove the loader, just personal preference. The mount is a Koplin ATV gun mount I got off of Amazon. Instead of using the supplied U bolts, I screwed it into my plastic interior fender cover. It has worked out well, with my gun never once falling out of it, even across a very rough field. I also keep a weapon for coyotes, snakes and those suspicious two legged critters.

Nope, that's 5 additional minutes I don't have to mess with and no hydraulic fluid getting on me either.

@@TKCL The additional time to make the garden hose and time to go to wall mart to get the specific funnel would outweigh the 5 minutes for removing the loader. A traditional funnel would work without the loader. Just my 2 cents but looks like you got it done regardless. Just like to always look for things to make it more efficient. Good job.

I had that hose and funnel for other equipment that's hard to service (Polaris ranger) so no extra for expense or time for me. To each their own. I can now service just as quick without removing the loader I feel like. Just one less step in the servicing procedure.

Andrew, my 3039r has a similar configuration for the oil and water radiators. I have a continuing challenge relative over heating. I have an open station. It was in the high 60 degrees last week and I had to run to the house to clean it out. I have alternated between water and air with little toon difference in results. Your 4 series looks so close I was wondering if you are experiencing over heating or running hot much and what do you do to mitigate it. Thanks in advance, Jim

I hate to hear that you're having overheating issues, I'm happy to say I have never experienced that. And that's with me mowing for hours and hours a day, and typical Florida 90-100 degree weather. The only time I've ever seen any of my radiators try to plug up, is after I accidentally sprayed water through the front grill and ran the tractor before it completely dried out of the radiator fins. I use air only because of that reason.
