Outdated. they changed the rules, You aren't allowed to put the elbow above the Punch. everything has to line up straight.
@egonza988 жыл бұрын
correct, the arm should be completed straight when hitting the target, and to be count needs to move your opponent.

Great videos! I often come to your videos for some fresh ideas to implement in my dojang, especially for improving my students' kicks. I was curious if you only practice WTF style sparring or do you mix it up and do some kickboxing, ITF style sparring, or grappling?

Hey Alex, great video, as always! Why should the elbow be above the fist? Does this give the punch more force or is it a WTF rule? or something completely else? Keep up the good work! :D

Thank you! Really just the way I was taught but some tournaments don't allow you to have it too high above the wrist so just depends on the rules, they're different at each tournament. I like it slightly above just to give a little bit of a downward punch to the top of the chest protector

Learn to fuckin box, tkd is great leg conditioning but learning to punch the right way is better. Those arm punches she throws won’t do shit with no power behind them.

Can someone tell me if theres anything in the rule book for Olympic sparring that says you can’t throw harsh under hooks to the liver or gut.

but in Olympic TKD could considered as pushing, which is a violation of rules in competitions.
