She NEEDED HELP after a TORNADO hit her HOUSE

I got a call from a lady who was having trouble with her yard after a recent storm in the area. A Tornado blew a tree down onto her house so she was going to be leaving the house vacant for a while and was worried that people would think the house was abandoned if the yard didn't look upkept. So I said no problem, I got this! I also told her to please call me after her home is fixed so I can help with the backyard clean up.

Squatters are no joke. If you speak to this lady again, give her these tips. Have a neighbor park their car in her driveway. Also install timers on some lamps inside the home so it looks like someone is inside the home. I'm praying she gets her house fixed soon. Thank you for helping her out.

@@DeborahHelms-z6wafter my first husband I was alone for several years. I had a cat and little dog which helped, but it was nice to walk in the house after work with the timers having the lights on. I wasn’t alone and I felt comfortable going into my home. I always parked in the garage so it never meant anything if the car was out or not, but having a neighbor parking there if you don’t have a garage is a good idea.

I agree that she should get a neighbor to park in her driveway, and set some timers for inside lights. That would help discourage curious people from hanging around. Much safer. What a world we live in that an elderly woman has to worry about someone taking her home. Squatting laws need to be revised in every state to prevent this. She was such a sweet lady. I watch a few channels (you’re still one of my favorites), and should you ever want to pick up a tip or two, Alex at Mow It Wells does hedges the best. Also, Kustorez is excellent with trimming bushes. You should consider cutting them down to waist high so the owner can reach them. Also, taking away those bushes on both sides of the garage would be an improvement. They're just a place for people to hide behind. Less is better. Nice job.

I have a big tree that’s on the other side of my fence line in my neighbors property and I’m gonna have to see about getting it topped off as well. The contractor may include clean-up of the debris in the back yard-but probably not the lawn maintenance. I’m sure It made it harder trying to mow where the tree trimmer left tire marks. And not sure if insurance pays to level n sod that area. BTW: Not sure about LA laws(if that’s where the house is located) but the law in IL is if a neighbor’s tree falls, the neighbor’s insurance pays for the tree removal and repairs to the neighbor’s property damaged.

Glad you could help her out Tucker, I’ve been through this kind of stuff in 2020 with two hurricanes back to back! 6 weeks apart my friend, I know how it feels to lose everything you’ve spent your life building and within one night it’s gone! I still haven’t recovered from that, lost my workshop, fence and 11 trees in the matter of 8 hours and I hunkered down and stayed through it all with my dogs because I had nowhere to bring them! Scary night that I thought would never end and the dogs were terrified, laying down with me on the bathroom floor while the noise was happening outside! I’ve never been so scared in my life! I hope she at least evacuated, it’s definitely terrifying! And one of those hurricanes hit at 1:00 in the morning! I couldn’t wait fast enough until morning! I prayed all night long and my house was the only one around the didn’t suffer much damage but my shop was destroyed! I could only thank GOD for saving our lives! Lots of cleanup and we had to sleep in my truck for three days until I could get a generator and then finding gasoline and diesel for my truck! It was so hot and the humidity was awful! Mosquitoes were terrible! No electricity for two weeks!

The utube channel, Mow it Wells! Alex is the one doing the work and he’s an awesome hedge trimmer! He just shapes them up and that’s how I learned to trim my hedges, by watching hid videos! Check out his channel and his awesome stap-on mower, it’s a Scagg! Amazing mower and the discharge has a lever that opens it or shuts it to mulch! He does an amazing job! 👌🏻👍🏻👍🏻

The insurance company also has to pay to have her yard cleaned up, I hope you didn't do it for free, but used your time on someone that was effected from storms that may not of had insurance or insurance that wouldn't cover lawn cleanup.

I like how respectful you are towards the plants that are in the yard, trimming and cleaning around them. On so many other channels I see the guys just go crazy cutting everything down.
