6.4l Hemi is more reliable than the 5.7l, but it has a worse flaw when the Lifter /Cam failure hits it is almost always a death sentence for the engine. Tolerances are tighter and when one does fail the metal destroys them. That being said it happens far less than it did on the 5.7l and we have had great luck with the 6.4l engines in our work fleet. The 6.4l is my go to engine as of today. I like it way better than anything GM or Ford makes now and I LOVE the 8 speed German Made Transmission it rocks!

@JasPlun14 сағат бұрын
If it was my personal truck I would certainly invest in a high volume oil pump, but being a work truck the company will run them hard. They usually trade them in on new trucks at 100k miles so we never had any issues, but when the pandemic hit and work trucks were not to be found we had to run them a lot longer which meant we had to deal with more break downs than usual. Our experiences have been the 6.4l is super reliable and usually do not see things go wrong until after 140k miles. We work them hard too in Oil and Gas, Utilities, Rail Road fields. I hope they bring it back. Even our company is considering jumping to Ford if they do not keep V8 engines. Six Cylinders will not cut it in our line of work.

One of the biggest costs in gasoline is the fact that we can't refine enough of it in the US. The lighter grades of crude are shipped to South America and Brazil to get refined and then back to the US on tankers. If the administration was really smart, they would fast track the construction of a couple refineries in remote spots where the local population would be a minimal obstacle. The last refinery built in the US was around 50 years ago, there's been some expansion and efficiency added to current refineries but nothing new in 50 damn years.
