These boxes work on just about any car with keyless entry/push button start. Keep your keys in a faraday pouch/box or even a metal coffee can or your microwave. Sucks that its so easy but there are cheap ways to protect your investment

In your center controls you can turn off the proximity stuff when you touch the handle it unlocks. I turned mine off when I first got my ram 1500 in 2013. I turned it off cause it keeps trying to find the fob and drains battery. If someone tries to open the door or breaks in it will see a 'door open without unlock' puts it in a disabled mode where you cant even remote start it.

I have a 2019 Power Wagon fully loaded, I was loading my daughter into her car seat and my keys fell under the truck, I thought they were still i my pocket and the family and I went into town about 20 miles, turned it off and got out to shop for a couch. I went to lock the truck and realized i didn't have my keys lol luckily my sister who is a police officer was around and i had her stop by my house and she found my keys still in the driveway. I don't think this involved a Chrysler product but a few years ago my neighbor went to FLA on vacation. They parked the rental and locked it via the remote control. When they got back the remote acted funny and was having a hard time controlling the car locks. They finally got in the car and things did not seem right, things were moved. When they got back to hotel, they found stuff missing from the trunk in a backpack that was in there before the remote acted funny. Someone had a clone machine for the door locks and watched them as they parked.

I disabled passive entry on my truck to prevent allowing the door to open without clicking the door open button. This prevents getting in the car in the first place and is a well known BLE issue on all cars that needs to be fixed by all manufacturers including Tesla. The passive entry disable is an option selection on the my RAM 2022 truck.

That's a good idea. My 23 RAM was opened without any scratch on the Walmart parking lot and they emptied my shopping bags and some personal belongings. But nothing seemed to be violated. I guess someone in other car repeated the signal of my key when I got out of the truck

I put my keys in a metal coffee can with a foil top when at home. When shopping or in a motel they go into an aluminum box just big enough. Since it leaks RF I also wrap it in foil. I tested these solutions by trying to unlock the Ram with the coffee can or box 6" away. I also park a cheaper vehicle behind the Ram when in the driveway.

I couldn’t believe how easy it was for them I literally seen them drive away . They had neither of my keys to access the truck I was in such disbelief when it was driving away ! They had the tracker disabled in minutes as well ! I called the police instantly but nothing was able to get recovered ! I keep my keys in a faraday case. My garage is locked with a screwdriver in the door track anyway. Could happen when I stop at a restaurant etc I guess. My Toyota is the same way. Keyless entry, keyless start.

Dodges have always been notoriously easy to steal. When my 01 2500 was stolen many years ago, my friend (who owns a body shop) quipped that if he wanted to, he could steal any dodge with a butter knife.

Ignorance is bliss. I install a hidden switch to the fuel pump. No power to the fuel pump, no way to drive away with your vehicle, unless they steal it with a tow truck.

Buy what's called a Faraday cage. They're a few dollars. Put your fob inside this pouch, and it blocks the signal from being intercepted

To avoid this from happening. Disable passive entry under lock and open settings. Then they can't open your door. but you will need to use the unlock and lock button on your keyfob to get in. It's inconvenient, if you're worried or disable it at night before you go to sleep. This would be your best option. So you still have a truck when you wake up in the morning. Hope this helps you sleep better at night. 🇺🇸👍🏼

Got one for my TRX! The Faraday Ticonn is one of the best. Actually does completely block the signal. Also make sure If you are driving and you park somewhere. Be alert on anyone possibly following you. But MOST IMPORTANT TIP about faraday pouch! Put the key in the faraday pouch before you EXIT vehicle. Lock door from inside handle by hand. If thieves are following and they get that signal before you put in faraday pouch they now can enter regardless if you have the blocker or not. Just FYI my friend.

As scary as this sounds, keep in mind that the overwhelming majority of Ram trucks that are stolen are done so because the owners leave them unlocked with the keys inside. Practically inviting thieves to come steal the truck. Aside from obviously locking your vehicle and keeping the keys with you, you can simply keep your keys in a blocking pouch for less than $10, which prevents a wireless signal from being sent out that thieves can use to clone your keys. Problem solved.

That’s BS. My 2021 TRX was stolen from my work parking garage in about 20 seconds. They broke the rear window and once in the cabin they used their device to start the ignition and drove off. Security caught the entire theft on CCTV. These Dodge vehicles are defective and Dodge should be sued in a consumer class action. I lost $40K because I paid over sticker at $130K and was only reimbursed $90k by my insurance company.

Knew that as the ram is on the Hot list now as they have shown several videos where people's ram trucks getting driven off out of there driveways. Install a hidden kill switch shutting off the starter/fuel injection put in a apple air tag in your vehicle. If u unlock it and don't open door it will relock in so many seconds my 11 yr old car does that and it pisses me off.

Does this work if you turn off the Passive Disarm Feature in the vehicle (keyless entry option). Isnt the push to unlock signal different from the RFID static signal from the keyfob??? I would assume if a thief uses a repeater and the door doesnt unlock, they will maybe think its not the right code. thoughts

Don't get why people just don't get a hardened steel foot pedal brake lock. The good expensive ones are damn near un cutable by anything but a diamond saw and prevents the brake pedal from being depressed. Just lock in on when u park and it makes it very hard to steal.

Without getting into "how" a repeater box works, which I've read how, the thing to do is take your Ram truck's key fob and put it as far away from the truck in your house as you possibly can. Same for any Dodge or Chrysler car. Most people leave their key fob right by the door. That's what I did. Now I put it at the other end of the house. If you can find a lead-formed or lead-lined box to put it in, in addition to putting it at the other end of the house, buy it and store your fob inside of it. Yes, I know its a pain in the butt, but it will save your vehicle from being stolen.

They had this feature for 30+ yrs that would help this type of thing, but retired use of it for the last decade... ...........Steering LOCK --- Dodge/Ram/Chrysler/Hyundai/KIA, u ever heard of it??!! This is something I’ve never understood. The car knows there is no key so why doesn’t it shutdown immediately or after a few seconds? I get safety but it could display a message alerting the driver. Or like remote start it could just prevent the transmission from coming out of park.

The reason is simple. If the battery in the fob is dead, the system still allows starting by using the fob to push the start button. If it then died afterwards, then the legitimate owner couldn’t drive it until the fob’s battery was replaced.
