@@jrive075 Probably not. 10 mpg going 82 mph in a 702 hp supercharged 6.2 v8 awd lifted pickup truck on 35 inch all-terrains is pretty good. I've owned a 4.7 magnum Ram, a 5.9 magnum Ram, a 5.9 Cummins Ram, a 6.7 Cummins Ram, and a 5.7 hemi Ram. The only one that got good fuel economy was the 6.7, which I would expect from a modern diesel. Chrysler v8's aren't exactly known for getting good gas mileage, neither were the old 5.9 Cummins diesel straight sixes. All of them got around 15 mpg. The 6.7 got around 25 mpg. I never experienced the thing that you described with getting better gas mileage after breaking in.

There is no industry standard! It actually comes down to whatever the particular station decides to use. Hopefully as time goes on, they will generally standardize that to prevent confusion.

Drive from Chicago to Leadville for the past 6 years w/my 5.7 Ram 1500 (14 mpg/avg) and the trip out via the Nebraska route always costs me about $40 more in fuel than the return trip! Seems like there is always a strong headwind the entire length of the state. This year made the trip out with the JT LE -- Not a great increase at only 19 MPG but I did spend about $50 less this trip!

Yeah, that's where the next gen Raptor is going to really hurt the Trx. People can say they don't care about mpg, but when you've got a direct competitor averaging 4 or 5 mpg better, sales will reflect that. I think Ram engineers made a critical error in choosing the BorgWarner 48-13 full-time active transfer case.
@garys21573 жыл бұрын
