The Brotherhood of Steel has a storied history in the Fallout universe. Does it really make sense to see them show up in Appalachia in Fallout 76? 25 years after the Great War?

In all seriousness, it would be interesting to know more about the NCR government and life past Fallout 2. I mean, we encounter the NCR in FONV, but they're operating alongside House and don't actually manage the Strip, so it doesn't give us an insight much into what is going on. Frankly, it would be nice to see the west coast again post-F2.

I think it is possible for them to walk if they started walking from the point they lost comms with the Appalachia’s BOS in real game time from when the vault opens to the dlc is completely possible

@@wisemankugelmemicus1701 Fallout 76 is a game with great potential- potential that Bethesda has all but ruined with their emphasis on collecting and displaying junk. There is no new map area to explore and the storyline content is second rate compared to previous Fallout entries. Then there are the bugs and glitches that Bethesda can't fix two years after the game was released. Sure, the game's playable. In fact, it's great- IF you like playing on the same map and running the same "kill the boss creature" or "bring me five Stingwing meat and five Yao Guai meat" type of events for two years, IF you like dealing with the bugs and glitches, and IF you like collecting and displaying clothing and trinkets at your camp that almost no one except you will ever take the time to look at. THAT is a poor substitute for a game. Right now, they're just stringing players along with this crap, and with empty promises of quality future content that has yet to be delivered. Meanwhile, they're selling junk out of their Atomic Shop- which, unlike the rest of the game, never has any bugs in it at all. Can't imagine why... The other Bethesda products that you mentioned are good, but are all now dated. Fallout 4 was good- but suffered from everything packed so close together that good and bad guys could be a block apart in Boston and never bother one another. It also had very poor companion scripting that caused the player's companion to constantly block the player's shot.

More importantly, it's got satellite communications capabilities. One of the core parts of the BoS original story in 76 is the loss of communication between the coasts and taggertys decision to use the nukes (against BoS protocol) when she lost connection with Lost Hills. Attempting to reestablish an east coast presence this soon after the war (which the BoS opposed to start with) is reasonably a high priority. The BoS that we're familiar with in the lore is half a century removed from the war. They've suffered losses, they've failed to rebuild the nation and they've become isolated, shutting out the world that doesn't want their idea of a future. In 76, we can see them before that. They're still in the early idealistic stages of believing that they're the moral compass of the new world. They swoop in with their power armor and refusal to use nukes and expect the locals to greet them as saviors. But they're not. The world doesn't want a military ruler. They try to establish control by controlling the technology and strategic locations (like atlas now and later helios, hoover dam and the citadel/pentagon). They aren't the BoS from the lore because they haven't become that Brotherhood yet. Maxon left the army because he was too idealistic for what they were becoming. He named his order a Brotherhood and ranks after the noble knights of history. He believes in a better world.... Right now. But, he lost taggerty. He'll probably lose Romani. His idealism loses lives, and his vision dies a little bit with each lost soldier. Eventually, isolation is easier. If the world doesn't trust them to lead with the technology and the BoS doesn't trust the world to use it safely, then snatch it up and lock it away. In 30 years after the loss of taggerty and the eventual fall of atlas, we get the Brotherhood we recognize. One whose values are twisted from their shining dreams of 2077. One whose core values are disputed by the elders, leading to the outcasts who want to resume the mission of a better world (project purity) and the core of the Brotherhood who maintains that isolation is the only course of action. To say that this is not the Brotherhood of the lore is to ignore the fact that they are humans with human flaws. Or it's just shoehorned in for fan service and I've thought more about it than the Bethesda devs. Both are possible.

@@masinary1261 the bombs that she set off WERE nukes (mini nukes I think, but still nukes). It's called operation touchdown not just because it involves getting to the lair (endzone) but because the presidential nuclear code briefcase is referred to as the "football". We also learn that the detonation wakes the queen, something we see happens when a nuke is dropped on fissure prime (where the glass cavern is).

Typical walking time coast to coast is in the region of 6 months, which means the brotherhood's ~4 months is believable if they were going at a good pace with power armour to make walking easier and so on. It would be weird if they were going that slow in an airship.

I hear where you're coming from, but you missed a couple things in your research that have been revealed from leaks in the PTS. 1) They were sent to Appalachia, but they had many stops on the way to recover technology, most of those were a bust though. So what you said you would prefer was the case. 2) The Observatory (weather control station) is their primary known goal, not fighting the scorched (though that will likely have some play in the story). 3) Aside from the Observatory, Appalachia also is a haven for technology, with literal robot cities and facilities that constantly create live nuclear weapons. The Lost Hills was made aware of the nuclear weapons by the Appalachian BOS, since the West Virginian faction wanted to use the nukes before going radio silent. 4) Roger Maxson was a lot less isolationist than those that succeeded him after his passing. Also, there is no mention of him ACTUALLY being there in Fractured Steel. What is likely going to happen is that Romani is going to turn against the Brotherhood and the First Expedition will be wiped from Brotherhood records. It could even be argued that the reason the Brotherhood started adopting its isolationist views came from the betrayal they faced in Appalachia. 5) Your point about it making the same amount of sense for the NCR to come as well is just plain wrong.

Robert Maxson was explicitly isolationist to the extreme, per the original lore. All the Brotherhood did during his life was move from Mariposa to Lost Hills, then sat there until his death in 2135. In 2134, a splinter group tried to convince him to authorize an expedition to West-Tec, but they failed, and ultimately deserted on their own (and got killed). This whole "leaks" nonsense is Bethesda desperately trying to write re-write Fallout's story so that their pet faction can be in the shittiest Fallout ever made. Its complete bullshit laziness, but hey, if you like bullshit stories, who am I to stop you?

@@TheYela0 No he didn't. He only moved his current contingent of soldiers and their families from one bunker to another. Bethesda is not fleshing out the history of the Brotherhood, they are rewriting the lore so they can be lazy and not have to come up with a unique group of US military survivors. I've skimmed the PTS leaks - its actually interesting stuff, a group of US Army Rangers settling into a mountainside training camp and only recruiting other ex-military survivors (which is more open than the OG Brotherhood ever were). If they had made them a unique faction, separate from the Brotherhood, i'd have no issue. As someone who is actually familiar with US military communications, I can guarantee you that if some random Captain in California can use them to contact another random LT in West Virginia, there should be an entire network of military survivors across the entire US capable of using those same networks. Also, I have not dismissed FO76 because its multiplayer, I've dismissed it because its a thrown-together, buggy, lore-breaking naked cash-grab by Bethesda leadership, who have continually demonstrated that they only want to make as much money as the can. And regardless of where we got this information, its still stuff Bethesda wrote, its their creation.

I've heard that Roger was typically more caring about his troops than other Elders, supposedly because he formed the Brotherhood of Steel, and before that had the privilege to bond with his units as part of the United States Army. The other Elders have always grown up in the Brotherhood with all their strictness, seemingly carelessness to civilians, their single goal of - often unrightfully - appropriating technology, etc. It's hard to imagine compassion being grown to a point where it can overrule one's sense of duty to the extent that Maxson seems to show in these transmissions, with that kind of upbringing, if you ask me.

I think that you're right in just about every aspect. But, when listening to the transmissions between Roger Maxson and taggerty, we hear that Roger is unlike his successors in that he cares more about the giant threat of the scorched and rebuilding civilization than recovering tech. The recovering tech part of the brotherhood was originally intended to be so that when societies were being rebuilt, the brotherhood could share it with those societies. I'm not saying that this is what interplay wanted the lore to be, I'm saying that it's the lore 76 set in place.

Here's my take on the BoS in Appalachia. I have been playing since originals were new and always had a weird soft spot for BoS. Scorched virus seems to be similar to the plague because of which FEV was invented (as a countermeasure). FEV experiments (akin to real-life Unit 731) were the reason why BoS exists - Maxson was disgusted and he and his platoon went rogue and eradicated the scientists after he saw what they were willing to do to humans in order to test FEV (this happened in Mariposa just a week or two before the bombs dropped IIRC). I can see why if/when they learned about scorched (and the fact that it is a bioweapon launched by WV Enclave) they decided to eradicate it. They kind of always wanted to cleanse the earth of the sins of pre-war science and their presence in Appalachia weirdly kind of fits their Modus Operandi. They only care about technology (around the time of Fo1) in order to keep it away from general populace that is uncontrolled - if pre-war scientists that had all sorts of checks and audits on them were allowed to do inhumane tests on unwilling subjects, imagine what a slaver warlord would do, and for what ends he would do it. But that is Fo1 BoS. They have had 100 years to evolve their ways. We are seeing early BoS here. Rahmani may be one of the OGs from Maxson's Mariposa unit. She may be very dear to him as a result, hence the unrecorded message. They are calling themselves Brotherhood for a reason. Here we see the raw BoS with their early views on the world and I always had seen their codex as a sort of naive honor code and their general views as a "we are the ultimate good guys here". They oppose "for the greater good" mentality of The Master and The Enclave. That is why they assisted both Vault Dweller and The Chosen One. But by the time you encounter them in Fo1 they are very reclusive and exclusive. They do not care about lives of outsiders but they do care about lives of their own men to a degree since their assets are limited (no outsider recruiting - hence why Midwestern Brotherhood was seen as astray). In the early days I can see them as being more open to outsider assistance and I also expect that their WV endeavors will be the reason why they become so bitter to outsiders by the time of Fo1. I can also suspend my disbelief on how they travel from California to Appalachia - I mean people had been going the Oregon Trail for decades, and people are doing pilgrimages on foot for milleniums now. Roman armies marched on foot from Rome to modern day Bavaria. As such I can kinda see BoS units just marching over the rockies as a non-issue. Even the timescale in messages weirdly fits. 3 months from Rockies to Appalachia seems like enough time for a marching army. I agree that this is appeasement of the post-Bethesda fans and that some reasoning is shoehorned but honestly, it is not that much of an issue to me. In 76 it was fairly well explained why BoS is there and this seems like a lost expedition is going to arrive. I had bigger issue with the Fo3 BoS than with 76 BoS. Now we are reaping the fallout (hehe) of the decision to make BoS present in DC as the ultimate good guys (something that Fo4 tried to remedy) instead of making Riley's Ranger's into BoS of the DC. I'd do it differently however. Given that BoS is in it's early days I do not see why they would bother spending so many resources on traveling across the whole continent when they themselves are still trying to establish themselves in Lost Hills. I'd make a small squad, 5-10 BoS specialists sent to Appalachia as recon squad to confirm the rumors of the Scorched and report back and make the original presence of BoS in 76 replaced with the Preppers that were present in the area (sadly you can't remove them now but on that later). Make them unwilling to deal with the situation since they are in low numbers but willing to assist the 76 survivors and Preppers (yes introduce Preppers as faction). Or hell, make your own Maxson on East Coast, some army captain that after hearing of Mariposa incident realised that he is in a very similar situation (experiments in Huntsville) and a night just before the bombs dropped he along with others loyal to him went rogue and did something similar to Maxson, after which they took over one of the Vaults as they waited for their last stand against US Army (which never came to be). By the time he spent in the Vault he was able to disable the experiment that was running there and they only needed the All-Clear signal to open the Vault, something that 76 dwellers would do (hence why they were not present during the whole time). This East Coast BoS-like faction would then substitute the BoS. The time they spent together huddled in a Vault made them very exclusive and very similar to BoS. After learning about BoS actions in the area (where you'll learn that the local BoS that ou found all dead were all recruited Preppers lead by a small division of BoS volunteers) they would learn that Maxson still lives too and is behind BoS and would again aspire to become a chapter of BoS, just like the Preppers were and voila - you have sorted the fucking conundrum of how the hell did BoS get here - They didn't en masse, they just sent a APC or two of specialists that recruited like-minded people. Even if the Lost Hills BoS refused their help now, they would just decide to call themselves BoS anyway. Then Rahmani would arrive after being delayed on her expedition, would take over this new faction and decide that it is in fact a chapter of BoS after which Maxson would cut all contact with them.

i don't have a problem with the BOS in F3 since we also had the outcasts who lived like the original BOS so we still see them and even see something brewing between them, even F4 is somewhat acceptable because again different coast following a different lead but in 76, they're now taking things and putting them in places they don't belong, they did this with the super mutants and deathclaws, and now they're doing it with BOS. i would like to say they would lose fans over this clear crash grab at marketing the BOS to sell more of 76, but most the fans who cared about this franchise left after F4 and its terrible attempt at making an RPG, especially by Fallout's standards. so now we're left with casuals who don't really care for lore but just like the aesthetic or quirkiness of it.

I think they should just make it non or semi cannon. Some other thing that pisses me off is Far Harbor creatures in Appalachia, ignoring that they evolved and mutated due to very specific conditions. And I had always assumed things like mirelurks and radscorpions mutated and evolved over 200 years, not just instantly. Even if they did, how come they haven't changed at all by the time of Fallout 4. Really pisses me off. Also, completely unrelated, Bethesda's power armor was a huge missed opportunity and disaster. In my opinion, they tarnished the Enclave's ingenuity with the introduction of Prewar X-01 instead of just writing off the Nuka World armor as an accident. They also could have used T-60 as a postwar armor developed and manufactured by the BoS because of the inefficiencies and repair costs of T-45 and T-51. I also think 76 should be semi-cannon, like Tactics. Edit: Sorry for the rant, Bethesda's decisions are really disheartening.

According to the new lore in 76. A small group were to travel to Appalachia. (Its not illogical for them to walk, you guys just made it up that it wont work) and during their walk they lost most of their force and were forced to have random people join them on their journey. They eventually reach appalachia. But not to get revenge on the scorched. No. They are here because Appalachia before the war was known as Ultracite country. A material so rare but also dangerous that the Brotherhood needs to get their hands on it. And ATLAS observatory is a special place with technology that is dangerous to normal citizens and even more so in the wrong hands. That was their mission. But the leader of this group after that journey was humbled. She wanted to help people as well as gather technology. But she knows its not allowed to help people so she continues the radio silence. But another high ranking member disagress with her and think they should focus only on gathering the tech and material and contact Maxson to ask for forgiveness. Also walking from California to West Virginia takes about 34 days. It took the Brotherhood over 3 months. Not totally unrealistic.

So far I don't think the BoS in 76 is/was problematic. First, this is not an army, not Fallout 4's mobilized force, more of a recon team. I get the impression they are here to find out what ultimatly happened to Taggardy's BoS and assess the situation for HQ. They seem to also be interested in the pre-war tech of Atlas Observitory and it's possible weather manipulation capabilities. In addition the BoS may be aware of Appalachia's nuke silos and want to shut them down. Second, this take on the BoS is at their youngest, they likely still have not yet fallen into their full isolationist ways. Maxson clearly cared about Taggardy and his consideration for this Paladin Romani doesn't feel out of place when you consider that the BoS do care for their own and as Veronica from NV frames it are a family. The goal of the suicide mission to The Glow is closure for the BoS on members who went there against orders. Third, I don't think the method they arrive in will be too detrimental to the lore. Fallout 2 had the Highwayman so cars are not unreasonable at just 25 years after the Great War. I like your suggestion for the use of the BoS airship as my lack of Tactics knowledge at the time left me shocked by the Pridwynn's resistance and use, here one would make it both uses of Airships feel more lore friendly. Lastly, 76 has Vertibots and crashed Vertibirds and while it's canon the BoS can't make them I fail to see a flaw in them even owning a few or scavenging them along the way so long as the BoS still needs the Enclave Schematics in Fallout 2. Perhaps the BoS doctrine doesn't want them to disassemble the Vertibirds to learn them instead prioritizing their use and maintainence. Fourth, Paladin Romani has been set up to not be your iconic BoS character, she is a bit different, but how exactly remains to be seen. What I'd want is a tangible cost to their arrival, something like Power Armor frames have a huge need to their spawn rate (maybe not Raider PA though for low levels), but then they become part of the BoS faction, new players must earn T-Series PA from them as part of a changing player experience. I'd also want a lot of energy weapons and PA plans to be collected by this faction and removed from their current vendors, a low impact (they can still sell them to players that have joined them) way to really put forward their presence in the world now. My final point explains why, but I am also ok with the BoS being more open to our players being Allies, I think it can lead to setting up the future attitude of the BoS and a hard lesson not to repeat. The real big thing I want out of the BoS coming to Appalachia is for this expedition to ultimately fail, toward the end of the multi-year plan 76 will have for its story, kill this BoS faction to help cement the BoS as they are by Fallout 1, not risking their lives for the good of the wasteland and seeing Lyons as a fool repeating old mistakes by the time of Fallout 3.

Just that there is no problem that the BoS is there. How the Appalachian Chapter got founded and how the (once 4) West Coast Members got here on there Journey. It makes way more sense then leaving all those Years without Story for the BoS and just doing nothing at all. The same with the Enclave. Sitting on a Oil Rig, doing nothing, finishing a new Suit of Armor that is unnecessary and jumping into the Wasteland at the wort timing ever after Factions build up. Not to mention that we already how they are getting to Appalachia (The 3 West Coast Members) 4:00 BoS a little thing in Fallout 2 ? You know that they became the research House in the NCR and helped each other until they started a dump War against them. You may miss them in the Game but they have a/had a big role in the NCR. 12:06 That is called Character progression. Tech is there biggest thing years later after (the West Coast) have stiffened in one way and not doing else. Maxon even mentioned how he was more "open" and everyone, even his closed ones are telling him to shut down as much as possibile from the World. A resone why the West Coast got so out of touch in the later Years and became what they are decades later. Or in the time of New Vegas, failing. It goes against nothing because that are the early Years of the BoS. You forgott that Maxon carrys for his People. Something we saw in Fallout 1, he was the one who split up from the US Army because of the horrors he saw and what the Goverment was doing to the People. 12:33 No they are not on a revange mission. Just look at the files and you see why they are here. The Paladin who is leading the Expedition talked and convinced the Council of Elders (who was against it at first) to do a Expedition after they had the resources. She and 3 others (one got the orders to go back after some stuff happend as they reached Nevada) have the mission to go on specific location that most likley hold valuable Tech. And the last Station is Atlas in Appalachia. The other Part is if they should reach Appalachia they need to re establish contact or look what happend to the CHapter that formed in Appalachia. The resone they are a few more People now is Paladin Rahami recruited a few People on her few months long Journey across the US. 12:30 No, not what they are used to be, what they are used to be is what they are now. Years later they changed alot. The West Coast Chapter changed alot. So much that they cant reach there Goal anymore. What we saw in New Vegas. 14:00 No you are talking Bullshit. Maxon was there before the NCR. Maxon did what he did according to Fallout 1 to the Army Members of Appalachia, convince them to join and follow there cause. The same thing he did with his other Members in Lost Hills. Sorry Dude, you have no idea what you are talking about.

It’s already been confirmed through datamines that: -They are walking -They are making pit stops along the way to Appalachia looking for tech, some of them have died, and they haven’t found much. -Their main goal in Appalachia is ATLAS observatory itself I see no problem with what Bethesda is doing. Like you said, the Brotherhood has no problem sending people on suicide missions. Tactics shows they don't shy away from doing this to their own people either. If they are causing discourse in Lost Hills (having differing opinions about how the Brotherhood should operate). If the mission is successful, it’s still a win. If it’s not then oh well. Datamined dialogue has also confirmed Romani prefers helping people more than Lost Hills, and have recruited people on their journey to make up for losses. Very similar to Fallout 3. You can assume from both the datamines and the decrypted messages that this is the reason Lost Hills might want to be rid of her. Lost Hills has very complicated politics, and has a tendency to send it’s troublemakers away, masking their true intentions with a “mission”. This is pretty true to form for them.

Do we know the timeline of when Operation Touchdown in Fallout 76 executed and the arrival of the west coast Brotherhood to Virginia?

I donno. A weather control device, THREE functional nuclear silos, and the discovery of ultracite all sound like things the old brotherhood would have wanted control over. I agree this addition seems forced, the original retcon was stretched but understandable. However there is sufficient reason for them to show up in my mind.

The expedition forces BOS are there to clear out the scorched and scorchbeast. the last transmission that taggardy's thunder sent to Lost Hills before the SatComs went down was that the East Coast is facing an extinction level event from the scorched and scorchbeast. And the forces Lost Hills sent are eventually going to get wiped out again, as they weren't around when the BOS eventually came east by the time of FO3. fallout 3 takes place like 200 years after the bombs dropped, plenty of time for whatever forces the BOS sent to appalachia to be forgotten. Hell, most of the NPC's in FO76 are ignorant of the BOS presence during the internecine time between the bombs dropping and the residents of 76 leaving, due to everyone being wiped out because of the scorchbeasts. other than the BOS, nobody really records the history of the world all that well. I think you are getting too stuck on "the BOS cant be here because I DONT WANT THEM, REEEEEEEEEEE". To be honest, if it doesnt have the brotherhood of steel, Fallout is just "Generic post apocalypse game #12". Power Armor is what really sets it apart from most other post apoc games. The Brotherhood of Steel is part of what makes makes the fallout games Fallout. Otherwise we would just play the Wasteland and Rage games or Borderlands, or anything else remotely post apocalyptic.

As someone who's been a Fallout fan for two decades now... 1.) Most importantly, people need to realize that retcons happen. Period. In any piece of media that's more than a one and done... It's going to happen. A good writer will convince you it was planned all along... But it's going to happen. 2.) Having concern for the people under him and even the world at large, is in character for Roger Maxson and his Brotherhood of Steel. While they weren't knights of the wastes, remember... Roger lead a rebellion against his government, *before the bombs dropped*, because of the horrors of Mariposa and they really didn't go full isolationist until after his death. They also recruited outsiders still, at this point. So nothing is really "out of character". The Brotherhood of Fallout 1 is the Brotherhood after Maxson's death

@Dcard Dcardian That's the thing, though. What's a good and bad retcon is a matter of opinion... Using your 40k example, I'm not a fan of the new necron lore. Like, at all. Sure, they were sort of boring... But at least there wasn't something silly, like a Blood Angels team up. Maxson lead a rebellion. He didn't just desert. He killed people involved with the FEV experiments. Maxson's kid got killed by Viper's since he took off his power armor helmet and thought they would just run when a bunch of dude's in power armor came after them. That doesn't mean they aren't good at fighting. That means they over confident. There's a difference. The Brotherhood didn't get Vertibirds until the Enclave... But that didn't change. The Brotherhood is coming on foot. (Which some people might have an issue with, but I don't find it that hard to believe that trained soldiers with power armor could make it across the country, with casualties, which data leaks have already said they had. And the Brotherhood chapter in Appalachia didn't really sit on it's hands... It was likely one of the most active sects, seeking out technology untile the Scrotched Plauge started hitting hard and they actively worked to try to stop it. I don't know. I find a lot of the hate people have for Bethesda Fallout to be sort of strange, especially when the worst shit in Fallout happened back when Interplay still owned the rights... And while I could understand getting a little annoyed by them feeling they have to put the Brotherhood of Steel into every game, especially when there's more intresting factions... But again, that pre-dated Bethesda and is something the casual player thinks of when they think of Fallout. It might be annoying to the people like us who argue about lore on the internet... But we aren't exactly the majority of Fallout fans.

About the part of why the Brotherhood going to Appalachia to fight the Scorched doesn't make sense, I assure you it's your lack of knowledge of 76 lore. In 76 the Brotherhood of Steel made modified T-51B Power Armor, Ultracite. Along with modified version's of the Laser Rifle, which uses Ultracite. I'm sure with them being obsessed with technology, that would be their main focus and not just fighting to fight. The kind of people Veronica were involved with in New Vegas. My personal wish storywise from this expansion, is that this 1st expeditionary force that's being sent into Appalachia, is a remnant of Marine/Army Recon units, using gnarly tactics and gear to cross the wasteland on foot. The good endings of Fallout, and the mention in Fallout 2 of the NCR state of Maxson always had me thinking the BOS had semi joined the NCR by Fallout 2, if only as the guys helping with tech as the NCR rebuilds. As for pre Fallout 1 BOS disporia, the BOS was the survivors of Maxsons Army unit (he was probably a company commander, possibly batallion) and their families who survived to reach the lost hills bunker, so it could make sense to have more survivors of the US Army form something similar, especially if it turned out Maxson and friends of his all had discussed a similar idea for a shit hits the fan scenario prior to the bombs falling, each group would evolve differently but if they were all operating off of a similar or identical doctrine (codex) then they may have evolved along a similar path, of course having more than one or two groups that survive as a meaningful power via this method would be pushing it. Bethesdas problem is they just dont get the setting.

We have seen some game studios trying to write original stories and new factions with their own motivations, and then got closed down not because of the ratings, but because how it went for them on the market (*cough* Telltale *cough*). It's pretty clear that FO76 is seen by the Bethesda & Zenimax primarily as a source of funds for their ongoing & future game projects. And of course the BOS show up in Boston complete with Elder Maxson and the airship. In Outcasts and Remnants, Sarah Lyons points out to Maxson that he brought the primary asset of the BOS (the airship) to a place where any old drunk raider with a missile launcher could take it out from a rooftop. But that isn't cannon, unless it is....... because it uses a lot of dialogue and quest fragments which Bethesda didn't activate when they shipped FO4.
