@Jane-kp3xr23 күн бұрын
Because it was a huge inconvenience. They should have worked out a month-to month lease. Of course you have to pay a lot more, so maybe HE wasn't having it. I don't think that marriage is going to last.

I rather pay month to month on my apt . Then to move in with family.. it could be stressful.

People should know ur first house u can’t be picky . My first house I had 4 kids bought a town house 3 bedroom we sucked it up for 3 years, sold the house now I’m in my dream home

the wife is very naive, but i'm glad they found the right house.
@scarletribbons68918 жыл бұрын
+nybsbfan18 3 mos to buy a house? Yeah. Naive is the word for that. My son gave it 5 mos and still ended up having to take out a 90-day extension on his apt lease. He had to walk away from the 1st house on which he put an offer because the inspection revealed hidden water damage and mold from a 25-yo old roof and some sorry flashing and gutters. The bank (short sale) was deceptive about it and simply tore out damp carpet and re-painted in an attempt to conceal the damage, and refused to go down in price to cover a new roof and mold abatement. We wonder if some sucker paid asking price or if the bank finally either fixed it or came down.

I actually kind of warmed up to these two. The guy was blunt, but he kind of speaks the truth. The cheap house comes out expensive if you aren't careful. Glad that everything worked out for them. As far as rent verses own: it totally depends on the area. We bought our house shortly after getting married because the rental market in our (college town) area was terrible. Everything was either crazy expensive and geared towards undergrads or section 8. Affordable housing for average working non-students just wasn't a thing here so we made use of an FHA loan (they weren't as fee-heavy ten years ago) and bought a little house that has held its value well.
@PM-tc6sl7 жыл бұрын
Kiki Konstantine Wow, you are so right--my husband and I moved to a college town and allll the rentals here are aimed at either students or low-income people. Very annoying.

Wow so many opinions out there! Personally I'm glad they're happy with the new house -maybe not a house I would've chosen, but that's okayyyy, I don't have to live in it. Making decisions under stress , pressure & undesirable living situations kinda sucks though. I might've looked into renting a cheap apartment.

I live in Texas you can get out of a lease if you purchase a house but why didn't they just get a short term lease it would have given them more time and privacy
@tracey1415 жыл бұрын
Why didn't they renew the least for 6 to 12 more months?? that was a smart thing to do they would have saved time stressing out their friends and family, would have been more comfortable, and wouldn't have to rush.
@NuB824 жыл бұрын
It costs money to renew a lease. Although inconvenient, I'm sure it was much cheaper to stay with family and friends .

"So times up at Erin's & Morgan is NOT a happy camper!" I believe that Erin is relieved to see the back of him. I, also, would be willing to bet the in-laws were NOT overjoyed to host that guy under their roof. I truly wonder what the wife sees in him? Why NOT rent a small efficiency apartment on a month-to-month basis? Problem solved!
@scook55994 жыл бұрын
Cream of the Crop That's what I was thinking. Just do a month-to-month somewhere. It seemed like they were a difficult couple to please. Should be grateful all those people took them in. I hope they paid towards expenses and took their friends and in-laws out for a nice dinner. Or did a few of those projects for the in-laws.

She fretted an awful lot over $5000 over their budget when they actually were approved for a lot more and just chose to spend less. The $5000 over the life of the mortgage is nothing... she just didn't want to commit because she couldn't let go of the first house.

It seems like they are desperate because they are trying to get a house like the first one. Big mistake. Why don't they rent an affordable townhouse for a couple of years or put up living with their parents and get the money sooner. It doesn't make sense to buy a house you just have to settle for. Why not sacrifice a little if they really want it.

That guy would depress me and knocking my parents who let grown married people move in till they found a house is mean and nasty. I notice HIS parents didn't offer to help out. They just got married and they want to buy a house? Not smart. Rent for a couple more years, get out of debt, and have at least 20% for a down payment. The Real Estate salesperson might not like that, but she is focused on the commission.
@cheerbeastly8 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately that is just not possible for a lot of people... In my area a one bedroom rental is over $1200 a month. For a lot of people it is difficult to save that much while renting at such high prices. It is almost a better financial decision to take that mortgage insurance to have a $700 a month housing payment...
@cheerbeastly8 жыл бұрын
And just to clarify, I mean that you can get so much more house for much less money and you aren't throwing away $1200 every month
