Leo…you obviously don’t understand how a woman’s body works. If she and her hubby weren’t planning on having another child and got caught, it’s not like they weren’t using precautions. We don’t know the details. Also a good amount of us may have irregular cycles or don’t ovulate properly. Either way, it’s not impossible. She’s only 40. Even using BC pills, there’s still a failure rate even though the percentage is low and like I said, if your cycle is irregular then that means your ovulation probably is as well making it even more of a challenge to determine when you can and cannot have sex. The only 100% method is abstinence and realistically that’s not happening with a married couple. 😂 Unless there’s something you cut out in this video, we don’t know if they were or weren’t using some form of contraception. My aunt and uncle weren’t planning on having a third child and she ended up pregnant. She had her tubes tied after the third one. She was in her 40s. Also, the mother saying she got pregnant at 16 was probably not a flex. She was probably hoping her daughter wouldn’t be in the situation like she was. Some parents are usually hoping their kids are so preoccupied by extra-curricular activities that they wouldn’t engage in sex and stuff at all. Two of my aunts got pregnant at 16. Both had the notion and belief that you can’t get pregnant your first time. This was the 70s, though..both in the south. Edit: The mother probably got pregnant at 16 and had the baby at 17. My mother got pregnant at 24 and had me at 25. Nine months is a long string of time ya know. 😝

Not sure if mom gave too good of an example of abstinence being a pregnant teen herself, and having an unplanned pregnancy with this man. All this is also a result of Mom wanting to be friends with daughter, having unrealistic expectations, or just ignorant to daughters activities bcuz she's too busy screwing her own man. She needed to be putting daily bc pills in her daughter's smoothie or at the very least a plan B or trip to the clinic to discuss "options" she might be open to. I might be exaggerating a bit but I see her as just way too uninvolved and that was the problem. I agree with more sex education was needed, but I dunno about the abstinence part. 🤷🏻‍♀️

That is not true. So, look at the statistics- urban youth become pregnant at 2x the number than suburban or rural. The difference is the "Margaret Sanger" effect. 2017 NYC, more babies "Sanger'd" than live birth. Every urban area n the US has their own "Margaret Sanger" clinic. So, LOGIC would tell you- if rural areas have more teen pregnancy than urban area.....WHY are all the CLINICS In ***URBAN*** AREAS?

My mom got pregnant with me at 19 and it made my parents lives more difficult. You know what they did? Gave me the sex talk when i was young and put me on birth control as a teen. Thanks to my parents actually caring about me i was able to avoid repeating their mistake and waited until i was 26, married, and financially stable to have my first kid. I cant stand parents that act so surprised when their kids come home with a baby when they literally did nothing to prevent it 🤦🏾‍♀️

19 is an adult. I had my first at 19, and then a miscarriage, and then my second at 22, and the third (gave him up for adoption) at 23. Then I got a tubal. Our lives were tough but they were fine. We made it. All but the youngest one, are adults and learning trades and working. I married the guy who knocked me up all four times. We later divorced, but cohabitated and co parented for the sake of the kids. I am now remarried, but at 19 i was an adult and I wouldnt change a thing if a genie gave me the chance.

I know a girl who had her first kid at 12 - her mom was 32 or so at the time. Then she had her second kid at 16, to the same dude (who was 19 when they had the first one...), and now she's getting married to him when she turns 18. Understandably, people feel awkward about getting an invitation to the wedding, let alone attending. You can tell this girl didn't have the chance to be a child by her Facebook posts. I feel bad for her but she thinks she is living her best life. It's her mom who gave her the impression this is all normal and okay but, if I was in the same position, I would've gone to the police after the first baby. She gets upset that people 'don't understand' - she doesn't realize that it's not understandable.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. When you have a lot of children, like in this case NINE, you just can't give them all the love and attention they need. my mom turned 17 in April and then in june i as born. I didnt't have my daughter until i was 29. I was basically raised by my grandparents. Seeing how i grew up, prompted me to not want kids and when i did get pregnant at least i was at a age where i would be okay with it, but also live some life and not be tied down like my mom was until she had a crisis and left us with our grandparents and never came back, trying to get the experiences she had to miss out on parenting when i was 5. Never wanted my daughter to feel those things, from simply just having a baby so young. My daughter is 5 now and i could never imagine leaving her liek my mom did. But im also a lot more mature than she was because im an adult and was able to do those things she missed out on.

I had my son at 19 and it was ridiculously hard mourning the loss of my youth. I had to grow up really fast and found myself moving out at 20, as I didn't want him growing up sharing a room with his mum and having no space to call his own. No I wouldnt trade him for anything including to get those years back, but I also want to make sure that he doesnt end up in the same predicament I was in. It has also put me off wanting more children in the future, because meeting the emotional needs of one child intensifies as they get older and if I had more than one, I don't think I'd be able to give them the equal attention and emotional support they deserve.

There are still many states in the USA that teach "abstinence" - as in their sex education is "don't have sex until marriage" - as in there is no sex education. USA citizens also have grade 5 average reading level. These are not good combinations and make me very, very sad for these teen moms. It's also very likely that these "abstinent" states are states with anti- abortion laws. TLC really be exploiting when they could be making a change.

I had to grow up faster than I ever wanted to and now almost 26 years later that daughter is grown with her own family and her own life and here I still am unsure of who I am. I became a mama at 17 and that's all I knew for 18 years. I pray that this girl was able to figure out who she is and break the cycle of young motherhood. @@umustwinisn't it crazy that we're still using literal Medieval thinking: "She had her first period, she is ready to be married off, we collect our money from the other family, and we expect her to get pregnant tonight..." We should be much more evolved, but when you got fundamentalist religious groups having such authority in the United States this is what happens. You get some backwards ass thinking mucking everything up and ruining lives in the process...

It was a bit off, Women's brains are fully formed between 23-26 and men's between 25-28 so it sort of makes it worse.

I will say American sex Ed is terrible. (At least at my school it was) I was told straight up, if you don't want STDs don't even touch other people. "The best contraceptive is abstinence." And no I was not in a religious school.

Gotta say I don’t love the scene of two men yelling about which of them owns the pregnant teenager.

You gave me a giggle when you said about his hat being a combo of green and greener while wearing what could possibly be mistaken for a combo of green and greener beanie 😂😂😂. You are the bombdiggity though and totally rock that perfect combo of green and greener beanie 😁👍♥️
