@@nadyastyles3882 Working from home while looking after multiple young children is just not manageable in a lot of cases. You have to always keep an eye on them, but you shouldn't have them in virtual meetings, so it can be incompatible. With couponing, she's essentially her own boss, so she can tolerate disruptions. With the childcare costs they save (10k times 3 kids) she's saving them over 30k a year, probably ~40k in total with the couponing. That's pretty decent, especially if she's a lower skilled worker (40 hours a week at federal minimum wage getting a salary of only ~15k a year, less than half what she saves by staying home)

Really? Most people would think needing to coupon everything to eat, have one partner give up a job because they can't afford nursery for the kids (and kids who go to nursery usually have a better start in school), need grandma to help with the kids having a standard toddler moment etc "unaffordable". If he was smart enough to do engineering you'd think they'd realise they could save a bunch of money with a smaller car. Having a family and kids means you can't always do that uni course or whatever. He's limited his kids early learning experiences and put a ton of pressure on his wife for something he wants, that's not really fair.

Thank you for saying it! I decided not to have kids but, as a teacher, a lot of colleagues, have them and its a hard job. No one should judge parents. And more over, she is being intelligent involving her childrens in her couponing. Those kids are never going to take for granted food or clothes and they are gonna learn about the value of things. There so much kids that take that as something that grows on the trees because their parents didn't show them how hard is to put food on the table that its unbelievable. My mom hired me at seven to be her door to door sale woman (it was a very small and quiet town, so it was safe to do it) and I go to sell her paintings every day after school. My maths notes improved a lot and I learn by first hand how much work you have to put to get a sale while earning a salary compared to what my friends get from their parents

While I do understand WHY these extreme couponers do this, it does kind of irk me. I have a few of these in my small town and anytime I go to look for something on sale it’s gone. I can literally go the morning they go on sale and they have already been there. I just wish they would leave a few for others.

The polite couponers in my city when they hit the store, will leave coupons in place of items to help others out. However sometimes the only thing on the shelf is the coupons. I call those people coupon fairies 🤣

I understand liking coupons and collecting them, but why use so many when you'll probably never end up using the items, which may get expired? I'd just keep some un-expired coupons to use when needed. Or, I'd give them away.

With coupons for items I wouldn’t use I would either give the coupons to friends, put them under the relevant item on the shelf in the shop or buy the items with the coupons and then donate them to the foodbank or rehoming shelter

We don't have coupons in Australia because all workers receive the minimum award wage of at least $22 per hour.
@andrewmartin9995
@andrewmartin9995 3 жыл бұрын
The federal minimum wage in Australia is $19.84, which is currently worth about $15.43 (USD) per hour. Target, Walmart, Costco, and many other brands across America have risen their minimum wage from $13-$15 an hour with far fewer local, state, and federal taxes. In places like Sydney, you know well this isn’t a livable wage and we have far more cost-effective cities in this country where nice suburban homes start at $150,000.
