@@TommyTest147 both sides have some fault. but equating them like that is a perverse telling of what's going on. Israelis put numerous state offers and peace plans forward and have showed their intentions for peace with action like entirely leaving gaza in 2005 and removing every settlement numerous times. and there are plenty of Israeli organizations that aim to achieve peace between the two sides. There is no such initiative from the Palestinian side. That's all the difference you need to know about.

@Afterthoughtbtw
@Afterthoughtbtw 5 күн бұрын
That's incoherent. Are they expressing solidarity with Hamas or not? If yes, and unless you go back and edit your comment, you will have to respond to me in the affirmative, then it is neither reductive nor simplified. It is a mere statement of fact. If I claimed that I stood in solidarity with ISIS and also Tibet, adding Tibet in there does not ameliorate my support of ISIS one iota. That's the case no matter how many countries or organisations you add to the people you stand in solidarity with.
@yusefbrooks8584
@yusefbrooks8584 5 күн бұрын
@Afterthoughtbtw you are very wrong on multiple points. He made a statement, it wasn't a "yes or no" question. Please re-read my comment if you are unsure of my meaning, but when I said "not just that," that means not just that one Palestinian organization called Hamas, but Palestine as a nation. Your comparison with ISIS and Tibet is fallacious, becaues ISIS and Tibet are not like Palestine and Hamas, meaning ISIS is not a government in Tibet, and Tibet is a semi-autonomous region in China not currently being blown to bits by the Chinese government. My statement was coherent and clear, the reason he avoided mentioning Palestine was because he gathered his information from biased sources, sources that utilize zionist talking points.
@Afterthoughtbtw
@Afterthoughtbtw 5 күн бұрын
@@yusefbrooks8584 There's something ironic about you calling the analogy fallacious when you don't even seem to try to understand it. To make it absolutely clear the point of the analogy is that it is irrelevant who the people you add in, they could be the most pious people in the world, they could be the most evil, the most innocent. They could be next door neighbours, they could be from the other side of the world. What they are - whatever they are - is irrelevant. The reason all of the other possible myriad of groups that could have been mentioned weren't mentioned is because the specific criticism being applied could not also be applied to them. It means that no-on has a problem with the people not mentioned. They are singling out the criticism to the support of the barabric, murderous, rapists that make up a terrorist group called Hamas. And if you are in favour of Hamas, then it doesn't matter who else you might be in favour of is. You are, simply put, evil. Just like a slaver who gives some of their money earnt by slavery to charity doesn't get off the hook for their slavery itself Anything claiming otherwise is crude obfuscations, and deliberate mendacity.

@@yusefbrooks8584 For some reason, my initial reply wasn't posted. My comparison wasn't remotely fallacious, it appears you just haven't tried to understand it. My point was that it doesn't matter who you put in there. You could put someone evil, someone pious, someone near, someone far; it's just an effort to muddy the waters. No-one cares if the person or group you are showing solidarity with are innocent or good or whatever. The only people they care about are the ones who are evil - i.e. Hamas - and so if you show solidarity with _them_ then it is a red flag that you also are evil, no matter how many other people you claim to show solidarity with. You don't get to say you support mass murderers and rapists, but then add 'but it's okay, because I also support some people who aren't rapists and murderers, and I even support victims'. It isn't okay: there is no ameliorating factor you can give that makes supporting murderers, rapists, and terrorists okay, and so no-one will pay any attention to the other people you name, no matter how innocent, because they are irrelevant.

What it is by definition is using an immense amount of force (often deemed disproportionate) on targets. This Docterine got its name after Hezbollah set up their strongholds IN SOUTH BERUIT. Considering there are people in Lebanon who are anti-Hezbollah, maybe it would benefit Israel to at least try and make an alliance with a Lebanese anti-Hezbollah coalition? Although I am aware that Israel isn't popular among the Lebanese either.

This was already very unpopular in Lebanon even with a left wing labour gov that was even more friendly to Israeli Arabs and immigration (to the extent Israel has even been)-- right now very unpopular. Such a proposal would only massively strengthen islamist groups who see non-fundamentalists as collaborators in waiting with Israel, US, non-Muslims, etc.
