When top companies fail, governments should instead reinvest money into new government projects to sustain jobs. I understand that they obviously won't all be in the same field, but it will alleviate the job market enough. I'm tired of seeing countries spend most of their tax money on bailing out failed businesses. The money is better invested in creating government jobs so there is still room for the free market to compete and come up with more successful businesses. This practice of reviving useless businesses is what's killing economies. There's no room for competition. If you want to spend billions or trillions of dollars, put it towards somewhere useful. Even consider spending it as a stimulus for the people laid off while they look for new work. 90% of all businesses fail. There's no reason why we should be investing most of our money into reviving them.

It took the allies 2.5 yrs (after US entered the war) to cross 30 miles of water to land on a shore of a country ready, willing and able to help and support them China’s current invasion plans include militarizing all the civilian ferries they can get their hands on to help transport troops. I think any invasion will be loudly trumpeted well before it begins.

I say this as an Iraqi. This idea of Iran invading Iraq is cooked up by western media (particularly US media) and baked with inflammatory terms to manipulate people to believe their narrative to fit their own geopolitical interests in maintaining an eternal military presence in Iraq (and obviously keep it as weak as possible so that it won't become a threat). The two countries (Iran and Iraq) have a shared history and heritage (Islam) that goes back at least a thousand years. Did you forget the fact that Baghdad was at one point in time the capital of the Islamic Empire? Persians contributed a lot to Islam and the Empire and it is understandable - to say the least - that they would want to keep Iraq away from being converted by the US into a "secular" country that hates Islam and Muslims and would eventually completely forget its heritage and history and just become a pawn in the American game. A perfect example of this is South Korea and Japan. Both countries were occupied and continue to be occupied by the US under different pretexts. Both countries have completely lost their historical identity and are today nothing but pawns in America's game. Most people in these countries do not even see the world from their own lens but from the lens of the Americans. Most people in these countries know nothing and care even less about their historical identity. Most would just want to adopt a "western" capitalistic lifestyle and just regurgitate whatever the Americans are spewing. Coming back to Iraq, how can we forget history, and look at the relationship between Iraq and Iran from the lens of US foreign politics, rather than from the perspective of their own history and heritage? That is exactly what the US want you to do. They want to make EVERYTHING about them and its either their way or the highway, as they say. I sincerely hope Iraq and Iran can mutually find a way to solve any issues they might have regardless of whether the US likes it or not because they don't matter.

I dont like erdoğan at all as a turk but people who are comparing us with countries like France, England or USA are delusional. I dont have anything against these countries but as our culture, we never saw these people as "untermensch" and therefore didnt commited mass rapes, killings and all the other fun stuff these countries did. You can say a lot of things about our technology, economy, education and other stuff and you guys are right, my country sadly isnt that developed as it should (Especially USA supporting and coordinating coups and always promoting leaders that will work for their adv didnt help at all but anyway) but OUR PEOPLE are not like europeans. Since we never had luxury lives like them, we ACTUALLY care for other people. Its rare to find someone speaks ill about our soldiers for example, thinking how many wars and operations we join and execute, i think it speaks for itself. So please, dont compare us to what you guys did. We didnt caused hundreds of millions to die in africa, we didnt captured people and made them slaves forever just because they are black, we didnt let our soldiers to rape every woman, kid etc. If you dont believe me, go to the countries like in africa, Korea, Japan, israil, and tell them that you are belgian, english, French, American or whatever and watch their reaction and after that try saying that you are turkish, see the reaction. You will understand. Throughout my 40 years of life, ive never get anything except love and respect from these countries whenever i visit.

Britain, France and Germany absolutely hate Turkey but they cannot kick Turkey out of NATO because, United States mainly likes Turkey which has a historically acrimonious relationship with Russia and US can use Turkey against Russia. Russia is united states biggest brain worm, all steps that united states takes are mainly taken with Russia in mind. Turkey is a completely useless ally to Germany, France and UK. The only Qualifier they have is that united states likes them because of Turkish hatred towards Russia and 100 years of conflict with Russia.

Well I hope Iraq does a certain more autonomy at least, after all, thr south Iraqes, are the descendants of the ancient Sumerians. Rich history and to much influence could create problems with whatever new government emerges in Iran when the theocracy does eventually fall, (admittedly that could be decades away but maybe not)

Great context! Didn't realise there were polls that mirrored what the protests of 2017-2020 against Iran were saying. Very interesting. Good for the Iraqis for sticking up for themselves against a horrible neighbouring regime and callous great power politics.

Iraqis have almost completely lost faith in making a change through the democratic system. This is dangerous for everybody. True election turn-out is below 20%. The longer the Americans allow for Iranian influence to remain, the more difficult it would be to achieve true Iraqi autonomy.

Another factor that has played a role in the divergencies between Iran and Iraq has been the Iraqis' memories of the Iran-Iraq war, which resulted in huge casualties on both sides. Religion also plays a role. The Shi'a Muslim majority of Iraq has little in common with the Shi'a majority of Iran, belonging to different schools of thought. Iraqi Shi'a generally don't want ayatollahs (especially Iranian ones) governing them.
