When Harold the owner of TMC, a few years ago, went public with the company, he made sure at least 65% of the stock went to his employees. That includes office staff, drivers, mechanics, etc. And he probably took the rest. I honestly don't see anybody at all buying them at all....

I've been researching TMC and am trying to start hopefully around the middle of March. I like this company and am doing this for experience. It's a shame that people have to relearn a difficult lesson. Years and years ago truckers were taken advantage of. Along came Jimmy Hoffa to help them get organized and form bonds among their common interests. Truckers actually figured out that to be treated fairly they had to stand together. Just had tmc recruiter visit. They said they have no manual trucks and more. So was surprised to see yours. And they said they sell off their trucks that are around 3 years old. So should have newer ones on the road mostly. Also said the stock was 100 percent privately traded to employees.. idk. And guaranteed paid. Not sure what your experience with them is.... Seemed like a great company the way the recruiter pitched the offer . Anyway. The recruiters are ROLLING on the road currently. So they are definitely on a. Big push for new drivers. Did you say they just got bought out...?? Maybe I misunderstood

We do have manual trucks, they are for the Specialized Division only. Majority of drivers are placed in a new or newer truck depending on availability. Recruiters are going to recruit, orientation goes on every week.

All manuals were replaced by the end of ‘22 except for specialized divisions. I don’t know anything about being bought out, however that seems to be a big thing going on with all these big carriers. The owners are getting their money and running due to the recession coming around the corner.

As a local driver I get paid at least $1500 per week, some weeks $17-1800 depending on how much OT I work. That's for 5 days, home every night. To go OTR and stay out for weeks at a time, I would need to make at least $3000 for it to be worth it.
