You love and hate it all at the same time! I want to share this quote with you that I feel sums up motherhood. “The thing about motherhood -you want it to speed up and slow down in the same day, you want them to be grown ups and babies at the same time, you miss the moments as you're living them, the things that drive you insane are the things you know you'll miss the most , you want a break but miss them on the break, you want to cry because you're so broken but you also want to happy cry because you're so whole, you lose yourself and find yourself almost every day, you have no idea what you're doing but know you're doing exactly what you're suppose to be doing .....it's just the way it is.”

I know it's uncomfortable to talk about because body hair is seen as so horrible on woman but I'm happy you're honest about it all. I am turkish so I'm pretty hairy as it is, and my biggest fear about getting pregnant is getting even hairier and feeling gross all the time (more than I already do now). So I just wanted to say I'm appreciative that you talk about it and it's nice to know there's other people like me out there because you're right, all you see is the tan skinned and hairless bellies out there. I've always appreciated how honest you are! I love your videos.

Lily I am nearly 9 weeks pregnant and have been feeling so so rough, lonely and isolated. Even though I have told a few close people I still felt really down today that nobody understands what I'm going through. I just watched your entire baby series of videos and they have been SO helpful wow I feel like I've just seen my elder sister going through the whole journey. My little boy is 3 in two days and when I was pregnant I said I didn't like it however you've absolutely nailed how I felt! When you pick apart the symptoms and feeling ugly and gross, it makes you think you don't like being pregnant but you do enjoy it because it's amazing that you are creating something and have something grow each day.

You describe how I felt when I was pregnant to a T. I had a decently easy pregnancy but didn't love being pregnant. But at the same time, I miss it. Everyone is SO nice to you. Always asks you if you need anything. Honestly, people should just keep that up once the baby comes because that's when you really need it.

Yes!I had the same experience with pregnancy. I was excited and it was cool to see my baby grow and people are so nice , but I also had adult acne and weird body hair and back pain. All in all it was good but it was t some magical perfect thing.

I haven't been pregnant but two of my closest friends just had babies and they told me the same thing you're describing; feeling so much love and excitement about being pregnant and having a baby, while being so uncomfortable and tired, and how their minds didn't work well at all haha (one of them had an episode when she was around 5 months when she tried crossing a huge avenue because she thought the light had changed when it hadn't!! Luckily a car honked and nothing happened, but it was scary!). Please keep doing these pregnancy updates, we're planning on trying maybe next year and I'm almost your same age, so it's great to hear someone else's perspective, and you're so honest about it I appreciate it a lot :)

I know what you mean, it’s definitely a love/hate relationship! I am in the middle of my first trimester and having all the symptoms. But it is kind of nice to just be and know that you know things just about you that no one else does. Like a really good secret. When I’m not nauseous, I think about that and it makes me smile a bit :)

Enjoy your pregnancy Lily thoroughly and click lots of pictures and shoot videos that you can look back at years later with your daughter.My daughters are 16 and 12 now and they feel that wish there were more videos of that time to see. After your baby is born initial few months can be crazy so prep well with all the baby stuff💕 And I remember being very nervous about the baby around every scan and generally through out my first pregnancy. Now when I look back I feel I was stressing out unnecessarily about everything. So have fun and enjoy this special time in your life with Rich as it will never be just the two of you again once the baby is born Xx

Completely get the pregnancy feelings. I had waited 7 years and gone through IVF to get pregnant and was quite shocked and guilty at how much I didn’t really ‘enjoy’ the process. I loved the fact I was carrying our baby but did not like the lack of control I had over my body. Very odd experience but,again, worth it in the long run. Best piece of advice I could give is to try and not have any expectations, take each day as it comes and try and do something for yourself everyday for example if you like a bath, have a really pampering bath, if you like to walk, go a nice long walk etc. Just do something enjoyable that you have always liked to do. X

I can't speak for others, but I think you hit the nail right on the head concerning your feelings about pregnancy. Currently 29wks with my first and loving being pregnant. I love watching my belly grow knowing that I'm growing a baby and OMG when you really feel all those little kicks...words just can't explain. It's such an amazing experience and I feel so blessed to be able to have a baby. However, on the flip side your body is no longer yours. It's hard to not be able to control how your body changes shape or be able to do the things you could prior to becoming pregnant. That being said it is your body and your pregnancy..experience all the feeling. You aren't alone.

Lily I can literally relate to everything you said about pregnancy ! I am also 19 weeks, and I was hoping you would do an update on how you were feeling now, as I was literally like you in the first trimester and it was such a relief to know that I wasn’t alone and that other women do go through the same things I did, and pregnancy is not all shiny and amazing as you read about or as you see on TV and social media. You expect it to be like that and when you are in that situation and you don’t feel the same way it does make you very depressed. And don’t even get me started on the reality of a hairy pregnant belly vs the golden, smooth, glowing belly you expect 🤦🏻‍♀️ I think more pregnancy videos would be soooo helpful for other woman going through the same thing or even for those who are not pregnant as a way of educating people on the reality of pregnancy. But on the other hand, I loved all the kindness from people and how protective they are when you’re pregnant. I love hearing the little tidbits abouts your pregnancy (even the bit about anxiety/protectiveness on walk), more info than what most people talk about. My bump was more apparently during 4-5 months and that was my good pregnancy time (the only time I really liked it - and yeah, there's so much pressure to say you're ecstatic about being pregnant but it's normal to go through a range of emotions especially when you're not feeling exactly yourself). Definitely the way your uterus impacts how big you look, but your bump is perfect to the size baby needs

Omg, I completely felt the same way about being pregnant! My son was born 3 months ago. I was terrified of giving birth bc I was afraid of the pain. Also, since I'm a med student it was a blessing and a curse to know what could go wrong. But relieved to say that though it was painful, it was not nearly as terrible as I thought it would be.

I’m 23 weeks now and believe me, the kicking will come ❤️ it was late with me as well because my placenta was situated bellyside (so it would absorb the kicks) At about 20/21 weeks you start to feel it more every week, my partner felt them at 21 weeks. I also agree with the love/hate relationship of being pregnant, it is such a beautiful thing to be able to create something like this. Plus feeling the baby kick properly really makes a difference, you feel more connected

But indeed, looking merely at the symptoms, you have a 9 month hangover 😂 the first trimester is the vomiting stage, the second trimester is the re-energized feeling you get when you had a shower and ate something. And the third trimester is the exhaustion when that little spark of energy leaves you and you just feel disgusting 😆

You have very similar feelings to me when I was pregnant! I didn’t particularly love it, I sort of felt like I wanted my body back to myself but also I loved the fact that I was pregnant and the way people treated me! It’s just a weird time. I also had the same stomach thing! Embrace the tight tops while you can!! It’s so nice to be able to wear styles that you usually don’t want to because you don’t want to show your non-toned stomach!

I’m 24+4 weeks pregnant and was told I had a retroverted uterus at my early scan (8 weeks) by my 12 week scan I was told it had tilted into a ‘normal’ position. I keep being told my bump is small and I didn’t start to really feel proper movements until about 22 weeks. It’s so difficult to know whether you really are carrying big or small but like you say everyone has an opinion on your size! It sounds like you’ve had a very similar experience to me, it’s so strange being pregnant for the first time! I also feel the same about birth - I always thought I’d be so scared but I’ve followed the positive birth company digital pick and actually really excited for it. I was exactly the same when I was pregnant with my daughter (who was born in April). I loved being pregnant and this amazing thing that my body was doing however the symptoms were horrible.

I got a lot of comments about being small when I was pregnant too, I'm just tall and didn't pop out that much until 25 or 27 weeks. You look great!

I love having children but I didn’t like being pregnant at all, and it is so hard these days not to compare yourself to others when you see other women looking and feeling incredible. It is such a special time and with your first it is the only time you get to enjoy and savor every minute. Make time for yourself always, as this is the last time you will get this time to do things for yourself without the guilt so make the most of it! You deserve it! X
