If I may, first I appreciate the candor on the disconnect between Christianity vs how we choose to live. It's really refreshing honestly. I'd also like to add, not because their responses were insufficient pe se, that Christianity at its root isn't following rules but an invitation to r/ship with God. And this is facilitated by acknowledging despite how I have fallen short, God has been gracious to me. It is undeserved grace, that Christ lived the life I could never have lived. As Jo is sharing, none of us can fulfill the whole law yet Christ did that for me and died for my sin that I may live life in His Victory. And in receiving that grace, our affections change to love God. To love what He loves and hate what he hates. To see things from His perspective. So even sth like sex. Sex is God's design. He is not anti-sex but it is reserved for marriage. Why? A lot of times engaging in sex before marriage can make us miss some red flags/misalignment of values/need for important conversations eg finances. This can lead to heartbreak over and over and I think waiting is God's protection. And in the context of marriage, it helps build trust that I have forsaken all others to love and cherish you alone. Because of the discipline it takes to wait, bebs this really helps fortify trust esp when things are hard. This setup makes it also safe to bring kids. May I add, that marriage, in God's design is one of the tools God uses to help us reflect Christ. Marriage helps us think of other people besides ourselves. Imagine this situation whereby the husband and wife are thinking how best can I meet the needs of my spouse? Like how loving it feels and not to negate the place of self-care. For me, that's why I believe masturbation is a sin. It doesn't discipline us to think of another's pleasure as they think about ours. And then we come together to make bombs, hihihi. Also imagine a world whereby we are continuously thinking about ourselves, even on larger scales. I doubt they would be human flourishing in govt, business, friendship, and family. God is saying even at the most mundane things, my heart is of love and He equips us to have that by growing in the consideration of others. Do people go to heaven for being moral? Not really because we've all fallen short. We go to heaven because of the grace of God through the Blood of Christ that saves and sanctifies us to be like Him. And the opposite is also true, we miss heaven for rejecting the Lord's grace of salvation. I would really encourage you to consider and question our beliefs? Do I really love God if I am hurting Him and living in disobedience? Guilt a lot can be a precious gift to receiving the grace of God. xoxo bebs

Love how you guys have navigated the question on christianity and sexuality. If i may share, 'sexual sins' like fornication etc are things of the flesh. They satisfy the flesh. When it comes to the bible, what it says about things that satisfy the flesh is, not to try to avoid, or to fight it, or not to think about it but to FLEE from it. Like there's no two way to it but just to flee coz the flesh is the worst enemy when it comes your walk with Christ.

Lydia, my past relationship was also 7 years ago because I find people with different value systems or who we are completely not aligned, (for instance, someone told me they will marry me but I have to quit my job). Would I want a partner, yes! But, I put desperation on the side, because I will not succumb to the pressure of relationships or marriage, just to be like everyone and end up dating Legion😅. And I am genuinely living happily, because I thrive on gratitude for what I have and not want I don't have. Murugi, of course, one can have men around them, but if they are not serious suitors, what should one do? A situationship is not a relationship, and I'd rather be single than have a situationship.

Murugi broke me at "Making a conscious decision to sin 😭😭" I wish we could talk more about this NO sex before marriage thing and the trauma it comes with. It's called Purity culture, but here's the question, what is the goal with keeping ourselves pure before marriage? Does it really help? And truely how far is far? Because surely Kissing is a sin too, should we also not be in the same room as men? How many sexual sins have been committed in the Bible alone? There are so many question marks 😢 I battled with this guilt so much-still do. But after i listened to the podcast our Bibles, our ourselves by Blessing Omakwu I got a better perspective of defining my sexual parameters and my relationship with God. I would recommend to anyone who needs clarity in discerning their decisions in sex. Edited: I just listened to an episode from "It's related I Promise Podcast" call Faith, sex and secondary virginity. As an In-betweener, i felt obligated to share for those who need help with findings clarity with their sexual desires.

It might lead to; Wrong decisions Unwanted pregnancies/abortions Spiritual ties Sexual diseases Cloudy judgement from situationships. Lack of personal growth The list is endless. Sex is a Spiritual experience more than physical I believe so be mindful who you lay with.

First of all...I loved the intro today,so classy...on the question of sexual sin,I think you guys should consider inviting(you tubers) Michele Ngoje and her husband Ian to help you tackle the issue of sexual purity among young christians...I have heard them address the issue and I was so blessed. Loved the advice, especially the girl getting 20 missed calls from her bf,it only gets worse,alafu the more anamzoea the more he will demand of her,guyz like those get violent really fast.

On matters sexual purity, before i got married, i was like Lydia. I did fornicate but really didn't feel guilty coz i managed to convince myself that since I was going to get married to this man (which we did) then he was my husband already and so its okay. In marriage, I've come to realise why God feels so deeply about sexual sin. It's because sexual sin is the only sin where you sin against your body and is with consequences, some of which we can't see or fathom until now you're in a marriage (speaking from experince). 1 Corinthians 6:18-20 Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body. Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies. All i can say is, if we are truly intentional about our relationship with God that is through prayer and reading the Word for ourselves, the Word will change us and purify us, and we wont be comfortable in sin. The Bible is like a mirror essentially. If i were to go back in time I'd definitely abstain till marriage.

​@cindyndeda532 Sex is worship to the Lord. The reason God sex created sex is not primarily for pleasure but to produce Godly offspring, so that we can grow the family of Christ. In marriage there's no shame in sex it is something so beautiful I can't explain it, you have to experience it to know what I mean. And even in marriage as Murugi said we have to practice purity. Things like masturbation, watching porn with your partner, oral sex and sexual orgies (3 somes and the like) are considered sin or defiling the marriage bed. Sex can be so beautiful and wholesome without these things. I experience this in my marriage. So when I say I wished I abstained is coz now I realise when God says we shouldn't fornicate its because He wants us to enjoy sex only in the confines of marriage.
