If you didn't know, Baxter Stockman was originally supposed to be this type of character. A hobo. An unknown scientist hungry for fame. And when he is forced to join the FOOT, he creates corrupt machines and mousers to kill the Turtles. That’s why his design looks that way. Imo, it looks great.

Ummm where did you get that? Cause the original Baxter Stockman was NOT part of the Foot, nor he worked for them at all, and he was not a "Hobo Scientist". The Baxter Stockman that worked for the Foot was originally made in the 87 cartoon, and then it was carried out on the 2003 series, though he was this time as opposed to the Ginger on the 80s cartoon was made to be as originally African American. He was wealthy in the original comics though insane and used his mousers to rob banks and stuff. In the IDW comics he was made similar to the original in the comics, though even wealthier and he at first clashes with the Foot, and sometimes works with them and originally worked with Kraang and used the Mutagen Ooze, making him responsible for Splinter and the Turtles to mutate.

EternalRoman is right. Original Baxter (Mirage) was a domestic terrorist. The kind of character who liked to cause suffering just because. Never worked with the Foot- he was his own thing with his own motivations which were usually driven by pettiness, paranoia, or frankly because he liked to cause suffering. TMNT and other strangeness actually lists his alignment as 'diabolic' which is the most evil alignment. Compare that to Shredder which is listed as 'miscreant' which is basically the 'even bad guys have standards' trope. The closest character I would compare Mirage Stockman to is Joker from DC. In the second issue of the Mirage comics Stockman actually says "The money is only an incidental... a byproduct. I'm really doing it because it's fun! Hah, hah, hah!" So yeah Baxter was actually initially meant to be an 'evil for evil's sake' kind of character. And I figure other iterations of him try to make him more sympathetic or complex but I actually loved Mirage Stockman a lot. He was one of my favorites, and I only wish they had done more with him. Particularly having him and Donatello interact more. I did find the concept of their relationship to be very fascinating.

@@PicklefatherNurgle Don't know anything about "woke", I'm tired of that word being used as an excuse or as something incomprehensible because it is different. But, yeah, regardless, I'll pass on this movie cause it is ugly to look at, it reminds me of the insanity of RISE Of the TMNTs at the beginning, and the humor and depiction of the characters are more for a crowd of 7yr Olds with barely any attention span. Maybe that's it, it is made for younger kids as opposed as for teens and adults. So it's Ok that we can skip this. Also, yeah, this dude doesn't seem to know much of the lore itself.

On the one hand; from the way he's dressed here, I thought they'd keep the Louisianan-style Cajun accent from the 80's series. But on the other hand, making Leatherhead Australian makes a bit of sense. In terms of Stockman, he DOES look crazier than his previous incarnations; in terms of being a mad scientist type character. Still, I have a STRONG hunch there must be someone bigger involved here (namely Shredder.) Characters like Superfly don't really feel like intimidating criminal mastermind types to me

If Continued to give this movie any sequels future I wouldn’t want to know how old the designs will age and I feel like fork, Frank shredder I would like them to make shredder intimidating ferocious, I feel like they should take some examples from the 2012 shredder since he put fear into the turtles, and even master splinter to the point that you don’t let them leave the sewer until their home was in danger. For Krang I want krang will be taken seriously like what they did with rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, making them a threat immediately and the stakes gotta be high with them since they’re invaders and the reason I chose rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles because it took Craig a lot more seriously 2012 was serious, but not too serious. There are mostly funny moments, but the turtles was able to take them down to, but when it comes to rise of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles krang was able to build up an army open up a portal and invade the world and mutate it almost half of New York it within a day. The past versions of Krang of Krang not all krang made them to be a joke it so hopefully this entry makes them hey, serious threat

In my opinion, I don't really like Baxter's design for mutant mayhem, and the Cynthia utrom, though her design is a nice refence to Krang's Android body, may kind of spoiled the movie a bit based on the design of Cynthia.

I've been hearing great things being said by the people who got to see early screenings of the movie so I am looking foward to this movie and tbh I would watch it either way because I'm a big turtle fan but rose byrne as leather head is an odd choice and personally I'm not the biggest fan of ice cube in this movie because he's just ice cube, I dont associate him with animated voice acting but I might be on my own in that opinion. I do think Giancarlo Esposito is perfect for baxter stockman.
