The Ninja Turtles arcade game was how my stepdad bribed me and my brother before he proposed to my Mom. He had to have spent well over a $100 and we spent hours until we finally beat it in the arcade. 30 years later and he is still one of the finest men I have ever had the pleasure of knowing.

I remember playing the arcade version for what must have been hours in my local Pizza Hut as a kid. TMNT and Street Fighter II until the food was ready, then home to eat pizza and watch movies and play games rented from Premiere Video. Often this very NES port, in fact. Weekends were something special back then. Man, those really were the days.

One of my fondest video game-related memories was from when I was 9 years old in the early 90s. My family was visiting my dad's brother in another state. He had a son about the same age as me, and my dad, my uncle, my cousin and I went to the arcade and spent a big bag of quarters playing through this game in 4-player mode. After that, we HAD to pick up a pizza!

OH MAN! This game brings back great memories. I used that coupon at my local Pizza Hut back in the day. I still remember it fondly because my mom was so happy that I was so happy. Those of us who grew up in the late 80's and 90's really did have the greatest time.

They really were very unique, special, and of course nostalgic times for sure. I was born in '79' so this is right uptown for me. I have to pull myself away at times because I get lost in those memories knowing they will never happen again. Nostalgia is both awesome and dangerous if not kept in check. At least for me they are.

When my Mom and older brother came home from Toys 'r' us with this game, I was so damn excited I couldn't even tell the difference from the arcade version until years later when I went to an Arcade while my parents were gambling in Reno, NV. One of my memories about this game is the first when was shipped to a video store. My parents was at work and I could not wait my mam and paps to return , I was so excited that I can barely explain what's was so important , my mother thought that something wrong was happening with grandma, then I ask mom to go with the video store and rent the game . She is the best in the world and we went there, it was dark and cold winter day, I thought it was december around 1992-3 . I was 12-13th at that time. What a special day that was. This memories is so bright in my mind like it was yesterday. I am so happy that my mom and dad are still here with me to this day and they never stop support me like in this cold winter day . I love this game. I always will . It's special. I always play it in snowy dark cold winter days and evenings. I was happy back then, I am happy now. Piece to all that have such a memories with video games or movies. This things is like time capsule. Wish you all great fellow gamers.

I didn't even know you could dodge Shredder's de-mutation beam like that in the NES version. That's quite nifty! Also, in the fight against Krang, if you wait for him to shoot his laser and then kick him almost immediately after his laser shot disappears, Krang won't retaliate since it takes a few seconds for him to use his kick attack after he fires his laser. Quite useful in conserving your health when fighting him!

Even though the arcade had better graphics, sound and music I think that this game is pretty close! I love the music in this version! Good times. I think I also remember that I always picked Donatello for some reason. It's either him or Leonardo. Maybe it's out of habit from playing the first TMNT NES game even though this game is a Beat Em Up unlike the first game which was a platformer. I will not ever forget my fondest memory as a kid playing this son of a gun at the arcade. My mom and I were driving home from the city one night and my mom being the greatest she is knew how badly I wanted to go to Round Table just to play it even though it was around 9 at night. She took me there just to play it. I was forever grateful.

It's actually very entertaining watching you mash these old classics and I like the random jokes you throw out in the middle of a detailed explanation on how to beat the game, and all without missing a beat. Figured I would subscribe and check out some of your other videos. We'll done 👍

Just picture this: I was born in 1982. The original TMNT came out at the pinnacle of my childhood. TMNT is all I thought of day by day back then. I was also a videogame fanatic. So imagine me when I first played this game. Easily one, if not the best NES games ever made. Everything about it. Level design, music, gameplay and even balance. Not too difficult that any kid with enough practice could beat it, but not easy or short that it would be boring.

Well thanks to this video I did something I have not done in probably over 25 years; I beat Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Arcade Game! I have played it a bit over the years, but never all the way through until today. I did use the code for the extra lives, but I still started at the beginning. I was down to my last life with very little health left when I finished off Shredder. I beat the game quite a few times as a kid, but I do not know if I ever did without the code or using a continue though. I just wanted to say thanks for giving me a reason to play through a childhood favorite again.

An easy way of doing a quick B,A input is to place you thumb on the right edge of the B button then slide it over to the A button as if you were swiping your phone's screen right, only with slightly more pressure applied. In actuality the standard NES controller's buttons don't need to be pressed too hard for the input to be registered. This trick is often used to perform the helicopter kicks in Double Dragon, hope it helps.

you can farm the missiles in the sewers for points too, its been a long time since i played this one but i recall there were 2 or 3 sections where missiles would come at you, and each one had 10 or 20 missiles before they stop spawning. i cant be exact not having played recently but i remember getting a significant amount of points, if you get into a rhythm with the strong attack they arent a problem. that being said, i had never thought to farm baxters mousers before!! that aside, ive truly been enjoying your videos. ive watched almost all of them, and i have only one piece of advice: dont change a thing!! you do such a great job, are exceptionally thorough, theyre an absolute pleasure to watch. i hope you dont mind me chiming in with my tip, perhaps you hadnt thought of farming the missiles, theyre a great way to farm up points without baxter flying around!! thank you!!

When young, I would record myself playing to cassette tape. Friends joked that one day we would probably film it.....long before the days of youtube. I have actually spent hours at the motorcycle part racking up points and extra lives. I see our playing style in the game is pretty similar. I've never seen anyone else fight Baxter as the fly like that. I've told so many friends over the years about that trick, funny. But....always room to learn. Never have known about the "invincible" spot when fighting Shredder. So of all the NES games.....and really, of ALL the games I've played, this is by far the one I have beaten the most. Happy playing!!!
