Michael flipped out when he heard one of the songs. The band didn't like the song and all 4 members decided not to put it on the album. Michael begged them to reconsider but they felt it wasn't strong enough .....eventually Michael was able to convince them and they ended up releasing it as a single. The song? Also in an interview with Freddie, he mentioned that Michael was really quiet (not surprising) and this was due to his shut in life (also not surprising). They had conflicting and opposite personalities. Freddie was wild and didn’t like people telling him what to do, and Michael still being very young at the time- was more gentle and kept to himself. I mean he was on a leash for the longest time, thanks to his father. It wasn’t until the latter half of Michael’s life that he finally had a type of backbone.

Freddie pretty much did his own thing growing up in boarding school while Michael was under his father's thumb for so long. This could’ve been the greatest collab in history. Freddie didn’t hate Michael in fact they liked one another the llama was one issue and then Freddie smoked alot and Michael wasn’t into it. Even Elton John who was a partier himself said that Freddie could out party him into the early morning and that was saying something” lastly Queens schedule and Michael Jackson we’re on two different schedules and they were so busy it wasn’t possible,that’s how great both were. They did make “there must be more to life than this” which is a beautiful song that in my opinion holds up well today

@@andyviliani6931 They actually did 3 songs together. All were demos but Queen Productions, LTD was able to finish off the one Freddie solely wrote which the song you’ve mentioned. The other two songs are in limbo as Mike’s camp haven’t finished the one Mike solely penned which was called “Victory” & co-wrote “State of Shock” with Randy Hansen. So there’s where the hiccup comes in.

@@AC-mp7cx It's the other way round. Mike had a professional crush on the ppl he'd collaborated with and Freddie was one of his biggest professional crushes. Mike has been quoted to say he ONLY respect 'n work with the BEST [in the industry]. Let me explain: Mike was influenced by the God Father of Soul, James Brown. It's obvious he'd was heavily influenced by his moves 'n eventually perfected them. Mike was influenced by Paul McCartney...so much so that he'd out bid on the man's own Beatles catalogues when they went up for sale. That move permanently ended their collaborations. Mike loved 'n wanted Prince to collaborate with him with the Bad song; but from what one can gather from Prince, Mike would do be doin' little when it comes to the collaborating but want to take the credit(s). Further, Prince mentioned in his interview with Chris Rock that Mike wanted him to be the subservient role Wesley Snips ended-up portraying. Prince asked Chris (paraphrasing a bit, but)…"Now I don't know 'bout you...but you're not going take my butt!" So in other words, I'm not going to be your bitch 'n your not going to me mine. But it is Freddie's style of singing that influenced Mike to change his style from that of his *Off the Wall* to his *Thriller* LP. Mike had been a much softer singer, even in upbeat tracks prior to *Thriller*. You can close you eyes 'n clearly hear Freddie singing many of the songs on it. Mike used to hangout with Freddie's band, Queen whenever they were in LA doing shows. He's the reason Queen released *"Another One Bites the Dust*" as a single. He'd told them it would be a monster hit 'n he was right! It was clear to them that he'd fancied Freddie 'n gravitated to him. Eventually, the suggestion was made to cut some songs together 'n Freddie agreed. When you listen to their version of *State of Shock"*, you can't really tell who is singing without their identifying "heee-heeee's" from Mike 'n "Ouchhhh 'n ahh-ha's" from Freddie stylings. If you're not a Freddie Mercury or Queen fan, you wouldn't know to look for his classic style of singing. When Mike was interviewed once, he was asked if he was a Queen fan due to him hanging out with them backstage so much. His reply was that he wasn't a Queen fan, but a Freddie Mercury fan!

There's a kid's book called, if I remember correctly, Llama llama in his pajamas. It must have been Freddy that thought it was MJ's llama he was sure he saw in the sound booth. I don’t think folks quite understand… the stench of a llama is incredibly obtrusive. As much as I love Mr. Jackson… he was in the wrong for keeping the Llama inside the recording studio. The llama should have been kept outside in its stable. They can also be incredibly destructive creatures, chewing up furniture, household valuables, and even walls/ceilings.
