I was so happy that TNA got a game at the time! TNA itself was really rough around the edges because of a lot of rough booking/management, but the roster in the late 2000s was so insane and I'm glad a lot of these people got into a game.

Lucha Libre AAA: Héroes del Ring is kinda TNA game given it uses the same six-sided ring setup. but it uses the 2010 roster of the AAA lucha libre promotion in Mexico.

I remember at least when the game first came out, the only way you could realistically beat Jarrett is to run around the ring and have Jarrett trip and fall over the steel steps. The exploit got it done for me and I never played again.

I had the ps2 version as a kid. I was like 8 and actually watched TNA more than WWE simply because I didn't know the channels Raw was on. i eventually learned. Now my DVR is like %40 wrestling. WWE AEW TNA NJPW AAA i don't even speak Spanish but lucha libre is always cool either the coolest thing you've ever seen or a train wreck like the recent rampage after collision. The main was awesome but the trios match was rough.

Uh, mate... that's the wrong Paradox too. That's Paradox Development Studio, they're still going with Victoria, Stellaris, Europa Universalis and Hearts of Iron. Paradox Games had an interesting past as the guys behind Thrill Kill which would go on to be turned into a Wu-Tang Clan fighting game, not to be confused with Def Jam Vendetta and FFNY.

I'm just disappointed that this game never got a sequel. A sequel could've added more moves, more wrestlers, a more in-depth career mode, etc. It's why I doubt AEW Fight Forever is going to get a sequel even though the company will last for another 10 years or so.

u also tried to blame the game publisher midway games despite the fact that this is their first ever wrestling game that midway has ever done. the only thing that this game lacked was missing match types: Barbed Wire Massacre, King of the Mountain, Monster’s Ball, Six Sides of Steel, Steel Asylum, Barbed Wire Steel Cage Match, Cuffed in the Cage, Doomsday Chamber of Blood, Electrified Steel Cage, Lethal Lockdown, Queen of the Cage, Xscape Match, Full Metal Mayhem, Match of 10,000 Tacks, Prison Yard Match, Reverse Battle Royal, Battle Royale, Best of 3 Falls, Blindfold Match (Prince of Darkness Match), Bullrope Match, First Blood, Ladder Match, Iron Man, Last Rites Match, No DQ, Pole Matches, Revenge Match, Special Referee, (oh and speaking of referee there is no referee in the game ai referees has been featured in wrestling games since ps2 and tna impact is on ps3 and ps2 but they couldn't put a ref in the game? smh Street Fight, Stretcher Match, Tables Match, Weapons Match, Deadly Draw, Hangman’s Horror, Hard 10, House of Fun, MMA Match & Sadistic Madness. the only available matches that's in this game are the very basic like singles, handicap, Ultimate X, falls count anywhere, falls count anywhere tag, tag team, free for all, and submission. LAME and also, there's no knockouts in the game despite having Christy Hemme in the game's cutscenes in story mode as backstage interviewer, even tho she was still an active wrestler on the roster at that time in 2008. the only time u get to see the knockouts in the game is on extras menu in the highlight reels that shows exclusive matches it plays KO's gauntlet match when the knockouts first launch in TNA in 2008. the game was released in September 16, 2008. is the game bad? no! it just lacked on alot of features, match types and moves all that could've been improved on since this was midway games first ever wrestling game. this is te same studio that brought us Mortal Kombat. however, the cancelled TNA impact 2 game it was going to have the knockouts as playable characters but the game was cancelled bcuz of midway games bankruptcy. since then, all we got was roster update ports on psp and ds. while Namco had they own game engine and did their own thing but still had no KO's which became a common theme in TNA games for some weird reason. despite the fact that the KO's played a big part in TNA's success. so that part always puzzled me of them not being in TNA games. i can't blame it on midway games bcuz they were just inexperience and i also can't blame midway San Diego as well. we really don't know what happened behind the scenes we don't know if it was dixie that had them rush out the game bcuz she was giving them a crazy deadline. let's not forget dixie had no clue about running a company and a business, she's also incompetent and she's whole reason why TNA gets a bad rep and is responsible current TNA under anthem that they're in the situation that they're in now. dixie had TNA in debit and she's the whole reason why they have to rebuild and start over ever since anthem purchased the company from her. my point is dixie was head creative as well as owner i would bet my life that she had something to do with the decisions and why the game feels like a beta. the potential is still there all the game needs is improvements by adding more moves, more things to do in caw mode, more match types create a sable, fix that awful pin system, add a referee in the game and all of the things that's expected in a wrestling game. the game engine itself is perfect they can get Namco to come back to do a sequel right now. the reason i still i love the game now bcuz i get to hear don west and mike tenay at commentary and it take me back to the golden era of TNA. "YOU GOT TO BE KIDDING ME??!!!!"

This game is okay, playing the story mode as The Word We Can't Say on KZbin is a fun way to kill an afternoon, but I wouldn't call this a must-have. BTW, the Mexican promotion using a six sided ring isn't ridiculous, TNA actually cribbed the concept from AAA (which can be considered the WWE of Mexico) so that they could differentiate themselves from WWE. The six sided ring was so popular with the fans that when TNA switched to a regular four sided ring in 2010 they started chanting "We want six sides!" in the Impact Zone in Universal Studios where they did their weekly TV show at the time. They eventually went back to the six sided ring which they continue to use today.
