Disposable red shirts were in TOS. This is TNG, where the disposables wear gold shirts.

No no, in TNG they upgraded to disposable Worfs. They still got beaten, humiliated, and tortured a lot, but always came back for the next episode.

Which is how this guy survived the turbolift trip.

In the Nagillum episode a red shirt sitting at the steering panel next to Data is killed by Nagillum's invisible powers , in TNG most ensigns are red shirts , basically lowest crewmen , , , gold shirts tend to be Security or Engineering staff , and as always Blue shirts are Medical or science officers , , confusing ikr ? They should've gave Picard a Green & Black onesie , , because sometimes Kirk would wear a Green Shirt ,helps separate the Captain on bridge , , 🤔🤔👍

Right after this scene, that random crewman tripped, smacked his head against the elevator door and was killed instantly.

Depending on which way his head jerked he might have had spinal trauma and if it was just the right spinal trauma he would have had an erection when his corpse was found. This is a real life occurrence which is hilarious to me.

Red shirts are command officers in TNG. So that guy is probably a bridge officer of some sort. Probably one of the backup helmsmen (I don't remember seeing him at any command meetings :D) The redshirts of TNG were yellow. And...oddly enough....Worf is TOTALLY a redshirt since, despite being a main character, he gets beaten up in almost every fight he's in. Worf was upgraded to unbeatable badass (and would WIN every fight he was in) after moving to DS9 where, ironically, he started wearing a red shirt.

Worf wore red in Season 1 already.

"Best of both worlds" Wesley Crusher was a ensign in a red shirt , or should I say onesie , , ,they should've gave Picard a Green & Black onesie , as I recall Kirk would sometimes wear a green shirt 👕 in some TOS episodes , , ,it visually helps point out the Captain on bridge , , 🤔🤔

@@wyldelf2685 Crusher was the helmsman. So red was an appropriate colored uniform for him. Being an ensign doesn't disqualify a person from being command.

@@wyldelf2685 Ensigns are officers. They are not the equivalent of private. An Ensign would outrank a chief petty officer, for example. I'm not sure what god YOU so confused on these established norms of Starfleet. Hell, Chief O'Brien even spells it out, when he points out if Nog graduates from Starfleet academy and returns to DS9 and Ensign, he'd have to call Nog "Sir".

If I was in that elevator the two of them would hear me playing sea shanties in my houd so loudly they'd be convulsing on the floor. This is my curse.

Sad fact: Shanty choirs are a dying breed. In Germany they have huge tradition, but they can't find young people to replace the aging choir members.

Does anyone know who that actor was? I have a gut feeling he was a writer or producer or something, who got roped into being an extra.
