Miles is having a really bad day. Well more bad then usual anyways.

Two characters that had notably negative attitudes towards the Federation manage to absolutely nail what they're all about. The Federation are honestly kind of sickening with how friendly and consenting they are, but over time you end up liking them and in the end, they're the only people you can really rely on. You go through life, expecting empty promises, the Federation give you a lot in exchange for what seems like nothing, then when your back is to the wall, they save you.

This would've been a much better finale or part one in said finale where the Dominion and the Alpha Quadrant powers come together in peace thereby averting war.

I was basically Data in 4th grade. I knew more than my teachers because as a hobby, I read college level books I took from my uncle’s bags. I even knew more than I should know in high school. My health teacher was weak in science.

That subtle shift in Q's expression when Picard admits he was wrong is brilliant acting. DeLancie didn't oversell it - just this extremely subtle "I got him now, got him to see" moment of satisfaction.

The funny thing is that the Federation didn't know anything about the Ferengi when Worf graduated from the Academy. They didn't even know what the Ferengi looked like until the first season of TNG.

I love how even when Picard is intentionally screwing around while waiting to answer the Sheliak's hail, he still stays composed and simply checks the plaque on the bridge for dust.

I love when Picard says "on screen". Troi's face is one of horror. Like WTF! Riker's playing serious and then goes into a sh*t eating smirk. After, they're both like, "yeah, that's our captain!"

I think what makes DS9 good is the cast has a lot of dubious, mysterious, rough around the edges characters, that somehow end up becoming great.

So...from the standpoint of the typical Trek atheist fan... is Q God? A god such as Greek or Norse mythology? Jesus? Who is/are they, and why is it so easy for the typical atheist Star Trek fan to mock traditional faiths but accept the Q continuum as a credible possibility at the same time? This has always fascinated me.

For me, it's the way Worf says, "your animal". Like the concept of a pet is mysterious and just slightly unnerving to him. Also, I hope he did provide a sandbox (litter box) because those really aren't optional. Seriously Worf, you do not want cat pee on the carpet in your quarters.
