My husband and I have begun to watch your videos in the past two months, along with other RV videos. To say your postings are a breath of fresh air is an understatement. You add an artist's touch, both in the film and music. You have become our evening entertainment and we are so thankful we found you. Please keep producing these minor masterpieces.

I loved your video. It literally brought tears to my eyes. A long time ago (over 20 years), when I was licensed by the Michigan DNR for wildlife rehabilitation, my favorite, all-time project was a crow. She was brought to me just as she hatched (she didn’t have her eyes open yet). She looked like an egg with legs..and of course, with a gaping, hungry mouth. As you probably already know, birds imprint when they open their eyes. So, with me being the first thing she saw, I was her mamma. Or the old crow. I NEVER caged her. Our goal as rehibilitator is to rehab to successfully return to the wild. To assure that they will survive, mate and live as they are meant to (which is what I did). I knew her ‘caw’, and she knew mine, no matter how far away she was. Sometimes she’d call me and I would go outside and call her back. She would come and land on me, say, “Helllo,” play and visit a while. She loved to help me garden. She’d steal things and bring them to me. One time she brought me a whole set of keys (I never found the owner). She loved stealing things out of my laundry basket when I was hanging clothes outside (especially socks). I could go on and on about her. Wild animals should never be pets, that was not my goal, but I was her only family for the first two years of her life as she was learning to be a wild crow. Then one day she disappeared for about a year. Then one day I heard her calling me. I went outside. She came, landed on my shoulder, made all her loving coos, squeaks and sounds. Ah, but this time she brought a whole family of crows. They stayed off in the distance. She stayed a bit, then went with her new family. I knew she was saying goodbye. I never saw her again. I missed her terribly (always have, always will), but I knew “Success! She is where she belongs.” That’s my crow story, and it’s a true story. Most people don’t understand how very intelligent and loving they are, but I do..The crow is my ‘kindred spirit’. Always has been. Thank you so much for this wonderful video. It touched my very soul.

Awesome. I have never seen such a large gathering of crows and that type of flocking behavior. Once again, I've learned something from Slim. It's always a treat to watch his latest vignette of life on the road, repair and improvisational tutorials, and philosophical musings of a life unencumbered by materialism, scheduled commitments, and the daily grind of urban living. He's also a very competent and accomplished KZbinr!

Slim Potatohead not too many people know what that kind of murder this is. I love crows too. There’s a place about 20 miles south of me where occasionally tens of thousands of crows roost in the trees on either side of a 4 lane highway. I’ve seen these gatherings at least 3 times, snd I’m always fascinated. No one I’ve talked to seems to know what is happening to cause them to do this. Thank you for this video.

Slim, National Geographic is calling. Very nicely done video both from a narrative and videographic aspect. Your video quality is very nice. I have crows come to my home daily and I am sure they know kitchen scraps are always available. Sometimes many show up but it is generally about a group of four, and I'm thinking they are old pals. These birds are very smart and very cautious and they are a joy to watch.

Thank you. I’ll be sure to check out the documentary. Just one more little tidbit about ‘Squeeker’. I moved to Western North Carolina shortly after I got her. I went to all the neighbors (for about a mile) to make sure they knew about her (in case she decided to land on anyone ..which she did). She befriended EVERYBODY! Honestly, because of her intelligence, love ...and antics, she even reformed a few (who used to shoot crows for target practice). She’d make her rounds, call them out, play with them, even help them garden (dig up sweet potatoes). They gave her all kinds of treats. If they didn’t see her for a couple of days, they’d call me, all worried, wondering if she was okay. Isn’t that something!

I have lived near big river valleys in a couple of places and the crows descend into the valleys around dinner time and settle into the tall trees near the river for the night. In the morning they fly back up out of the valley and disperse accross the higher areas toward shopping centers, lakes and waterways, to hunt for food all day. They seem to do this daily and the flyovers can be thousands of birds. they especially like people food and road kill and seeds and marine bits and pieces and are smart birds.
