To hack or not to hack?

Hacking for good! A judge said we could! Was the FBI right or wrong to use malware to fight malware by remotely commanding said malware to remove itself?

Hi Naked Security, I think it's a good thing and at the same time a bad thing, they are planning/doing: "Was the FBI right or wrong to use malware to fight malware by remotely commanding said malware to remove itself?" On the good side: It's good that they actively want to do something about this problem. That is really great, but... On the bad side: It's bad or potentially bad because they are using Malware to destroy other malware, but... What if as you said, the new malware got uncontrollable, and another thing. Why do t5hey want to do it in this way?!? You hunt malware with malware, but who is to say that the malware, they use doesn't install a different set of malware, just to be able to stay in control. If you are not aware, even law enforcement agencies have been known to be on the wrong side of the law. I believe with this, they are on the wrong side of the law. The main problem I would state is at Microsoft to even allow this kind of action in their systems. In other words - A webshell should be banned, it should not exist!!! That is my opinion! I am myself running a server at home and it's pretty much constantly under attack, and probably unaccessable by the attackers because it is not using anything like a webShell.
