He used military interrogation, rendition and torture tactics on her tiny body. She went thru what sounds like Guantanamo Bay. Water boarding, sleep deprivation, being presssured to confess to things you didn’t do just so you can sleep, slammed and smashed around physically ???? He abused his training and treated his intimate partner - who is so much smaller than him - like a combatant! She’s a not just a gbv victim. He needs to be charged under martial law for WAR CRIMES not just gbv. Put satan UNDER the jail And we hear you loud and clear sis. You’re so articulate and beautiful. May you heal and heal and get justice

As the father of girls, i try as much to learn from these women's experiences as im preparing to write them a manual, especially, signs you're dating an abuser😊😊😊😊. Unfortunately, for this episode, i couldn't learn much, as much as the presenter tried to dig deeper. Everything happened suddenly, and questions not answered. She must thank God she's still alive, hope she gets well, and justice served.

@@sjozanawhat you’re saying is very important and true and a dialogue we should have as a society. I’m the only sister and for a long time my youngest brother stayed with me and my husband. He was only 17 when he changed his first diaper of his nephew… at 21 he was changing his nieces diapers and guess what? When we go out on date nights he’d stay in their room until we were back… now at 27 he’s a father and does exactly the same things for his son. He still bathes my children whenever we visit my mother’s house and although initially I was never comfortable with it, but my husband helped me realize how important instilling trust and building healthy family relationships is.

Her ex boyfriend sounds like a malignant narcissist and a psychopath. His lack of empathy and his violent ways are just shocking. Many men in the military and police force are proven to be abusers (the stats show that abusers are attracted to positions of power). This is heartbreaking because there are so many women in South Africa going through this. The police and the justice system is also horrendous!! Thank you to the guest for relaying her story as best as she could. Living with a traumatic brain injury is no joke. I wish this man a life in prison with no parole. I have no doubt that he’s done worse and has gotten away with it.

Well done Sne for staying this long to tell your story! Well done girl!❤👏 What I can suggest have a lot of patience throughout this case. Don't let it define your daily life. The guy might not live long, destiny will give you justice. Women never mistake a relationship based mainly on physical urges for a real one. It is an awful situation to be abused by someone that you mistook for a future husband and yet that person saw you as a tool to use. Never go for just looks, money and physical contact. Know someone from where they've been in life and how they got here today.

Hi Owamie, thank you sesi for doing this podcast. You really tried your best in bringing the best out of this interview, irrespective of the make gaps the story had. - ) It was difficult to follow the time-lines and locations of the story, and kept bringing it back to alignment -) Sne had so many grey areas which it appeared she wasn’t sharing (and us the listeners expect the police to figure her story out 🤔🤔) -) The picture I’m getting here is that our sister somehow was willing to do exactly what we are condemning the police for, that is, covering up for uSathane -) I understand the guesthouse room was far from the normal setting, but when someone finally came to her rescue, she lied, saying she had an allergy (and we expect the police to somehow sniff the real untold story of GBV) -) Her own family also, she told them she had an accident (and d legal system must also sniff that it wasn’t an accident) -) Guy visits Kzn after the incident, and Sne is going to meet him (and us d listeners expect the police to enforce the protection order, on a person that Sne is willfully meeting after the incident, with her family not aware of d torture as she puts it) -) Doctor will not be called to witness as long as the J88 is well documented and injuries well outlined) -) On arrival to Ladybrand, Sne was hosted by malume, but I wonder if malume was even told of what happened, or he was also told it’s an allergy 😰😰 - ) The laptop story and money is also another grey zone. What I can say is that falling into the hands of a narcissist is an unfortunate situation that usually leaves the victim maimed both physically, emotionally and mentally, and it seems that what happened to Sne. My lovely sister Sne, therapy is what you need right now. You come first, before justice. Some battles can only be fought when one is in a tight frame of mind. Heal first! With a story like this one, with so many gaps, it’s likely not gonna get the attention we feel it deserves. You have no witnesses bcos you told everyone around you a different narrative from the actual incident (of which it will eventually appear to be a smear campaign for uSathane). There are cases where innocent men were destroyed by a hurting or disappointed or bitter woman….then, how do you convince the justice system that the narrative you are giving is a true one and not that of destroying uSathane? If ever you get a lawyer, please open up to them, to avoid getting that lawyer embarrassed in court when undisclosed information pops up. May we all learn from this story. She’s sharing it to help us also, bcos no-one is immune to life’s problems as long as we are on this earth. Please pursue therapy, I believe there’s still hope for recovery. You are in our prayers cc. 🥰🥰🥰

The laptop story was confusing as hell, the pretending to apply for a loan, the "maneuvering of finances" to him being "very good with his finances", the lady was a cop but all of a sudden wasn't really a cop. How do you keep in contact with someone who has proven to be so dangerous to you? Are those laptops worth your life? This was one very hard interview to listen to.

Unfortunately the chances of this lady getting justice are very slim. If you know Ladybrand all the law enforcement agents including immigration and the magistrate court are *close" everyone knows everybody. Ladybrand is more like a village than a town. Government officials are intimate and socialize and hang out at the same spots and are neighbours coz it's so small. She has to find a way for the case to be handled by people from outside of Ladybrand or intervene somehow.

I'm sorry for what you went through! HOWEVER, You must learn to be accountable. Admit that you allowed this man to do all this to you. Even in this interview, you're CONSTANTLY protecting this man! We as women MUST agree that we allow these men to treat us this way. We allow it! I've been through domestic violence and after alot of introspection I had to admit to myself that I CHOSE this man and I ALLOWED him to take him through everything I went through. You need to heal, you need to forgive yourself and then you need to learn how to love yourself better! Get well soon. ❤❤

You need to understand why it happened to her. Wait with the accountability. Her background is the cause of this. She does not have the tools to get to that place where she can learn to make decisions. Accountability brings blame and that will kill her further. She already feels bad for choosing to stay.

Twenty minutes in and sometimes I realise why some victims are victims in the first place. I don't know if it's the brain damage or if is she just not honest. I am not saying she is lying. I am saying she wants to tell her story but she is withholding a lot of information for respectability politics. So far, from 21 mins, uSisi had two suitors: Sathane and Mr I've-known-him-for-20-years. She did not date Mr 20 years or give in to his advances. We know nothing of Mr 20 years, we don't know if he works or has a life and I don't know why Mr 20 years was mentioned in the story. uSisi meets Sathane at Game looking for a hosepipe in her mother's hometown. uSisi did not actually have a proper first date, she just hooked up with him, that's why she mentioned a 1 night stand all of a sudden becuase Sathane was going to be deployed to Musina and it was going to be a long distance relationship. Sathane is in the SANDF, and he is Zulu. It is safe to assume that he most likely a clean looking guy, millitary men tend to have a lot of discipline, they are in good shape, they walk straight and walk tall, they have good posture and they are very masculine presenting. They are in the military. I understand why she would be attracted to him in the first place. I wouldn't judge her for that. She claims she was love bombed and how she got money from him but there are no details about what she actually got from him and what he did for her. So I will take as, after that 1 night stand, he did not abandon her and forget her. He gave her a lot of attention and sold her dreams like he wants to be a committed man. She took it as if he wanted a relationship and that is not wrong of her. You hook up with a man within a few weeks of knowing him, he leaves to go to another province and you are based in another province. uSisi is based in Joburg, the guy is from KZN and he could be anywhere at anytime because of his work, he could have easily treated her like a 1 night stand but he didn't he kept calling her her and giving her attention. Sathane is calling her everyday, video calling her, giving her a lot of attention, getting jealous whenever she mentions a man like a coworker and step uncle and such. uSisi has her own money, she had a job that took her places and she got to travel around SA with her job. She was still employed during the pandemic (this story is from 2021), working from home, saving money from all the commuting she won't be doing and such. I am getting the idea that she did not want a man that would provide for her. And you know working black women, the moment they deem themselves to be financially stable they get to the stage where they want a man who will complete the picture, a man with a job and such but they don't have standards for such a man. Owamie actually interviews ALL LOT OF WOMEN who have no standards for men like uSisi and they just want men for the sake of not being single and these men scam them. I can tell Owamie does not want to push further but she is an experienced interviewer and an active listener and she knows how a lot of these financially stable black women think. Their lack of standards and self-esteem is what makes them victims of these men in the first place. Black men are not that hard to profile if you pay enough attention. At 23 minutes, she talks about princess treatment but she is actually talking about how her stepfather treated her and raised her. Her step father raised her as his own daughter. While talking about her step father, she mentions that she shared a bed with her step uncle. I will say it now, this lady has already told us that she is not in her twenties and she is a whole 'mam khulu', she is not a victim because she was young, naive and groomed. No. This grown woman told a man she was in speaking terms with that she is sleeping in the smae bed as her uncle in her uncle's house. Who the hell shares a bed with their uncle? She does not have boundaries on her own, and she is not privy to social and cultural norms at her big age. It is abnormal to share a whole bed with your uncle, let alone a step uncle, unless you are one big family in the sharing the same room, you would still let the uncle sleep on the floor. The uncle knows that he is not related to her in any kind of way, other uncles even molest their own blood nje. She told us that and this was before the whole brain damage. At 25-30 min, u guy calls her to see him the Free State. They booked to go to a place in Ladybrand for a weekend. Ladybrand is a small place so they didn't do much, so you can image what she meant when she said the weekend was great. Now, Mr 20 years is back in the picture, given the stunt with the step uncle and Mr 20 years, uSisi does not have boundaries, she still talks to a man that has been courting her for years. You can imagine what the conversation is like between a grown woman with no boundaries and a man who has liked her for 20 years. At 40 min we know that he has confronted her and tortured her. And she has 'confessed' that she was cheating or exploring her options. But why the abuse? Why not leave her and such. This is where the money part comes in and this where most black women get caught by black men. This man knows that uSisi is beautiful, she works well and she has a good life going on for herself so far without him and he knows has options. She has a whole other man that talks to her, this Mr 20 years. I said it earlier that uSisi got nothing but attention and dick from u guy because she drove all the way to the Free State to see him after that one night stand and all of the calls and attention and dream selling. After beating her up, he demanded that she drive him back to the millitary base. Then he does not want her to leave so he holds her laptop ransom and demands R15k. The man was broke vele. This is a woman who does not mind building a man or going 50/50. The man knows she has 15k to give in the first place, he has been through her phone, so we can assume he has seen some some bank notification SMSes, we all get then. Remember, this a beautiful educated woman who has her own life to live and her own assets. This is a man in the military who gets deployed to god-knows-where, he is in the bundus most of the time surrounded by other millitary men, he doesn't have the opportunity to meet women like her. And he struck gold when he met her in that small town. He usually meets uneducated women that he can abuse and leave whenever he feels like it. God knows the number of women he has tortured when he was away from home. So why did he abuse her? I mean, she is such a catch, she is pretty, she has money, she lives a privileged life. This is that type of woman that would need to be protected. However, this is what happens when you have low self-esteem as a woman, when you have no boundaries and you don't know your worth. You either date men who have not achieved as much as, you thinking that your education and money will level the power balance or man will a appreciate you when you are better than him. We know these women, she is one of the. She thought her degree didn't matter because she has a man, she thought her car isn't a big achievement because now she has a man, she thought her assets didn't matter because now she has a man. But these women FAIL to recognise that they are too good for these men and they make themselves accessible for these men and these men do not know how to appreciate them. Sathane knows that he will never meet a woman like her again. So what did he do? He can't buy her things and fly out her for baecations to keep her. We know nothing about what Sathane and what he owns, so let's assume he has no property and assets. He knows he can't do anything to keep her so he used what a lot of abusive men use to keep women that are too good for them but have low self-esteem and low self-worth. Sathane is a millitary men, you just need matric to be in the millitary. We don't know what he has achieved for himself ever since he joined the military. He made her a victim, he treated her like she trash so that he could make her good enough for him. If you stumble upon a lambo, and you know you should not have a lambo because you don't deserve it. You don't know how to appreciate a lambo and what it can offer you what do you do? You devalue it and treat the lambo like trash. You want to show the world that even though this is a lambo, this is trash because I treat it like trash. But unlike cars, women need to be aware of their achievements and worth. They should have strict standards and boundaries for men. Otherwise you will give access to men who were not supposed to have you and be with you in the first place. These men won't know how to appreciate you, or keep up with you or keep you around them. They will use violence and threaten you, devalue you, publicly humiliate you so that they can convince the world that you are trash and that they should get away with treating 'trash' like 'trash'. Look at Keke Palmer. But this is my essay just from 47 min of wtaching this. Let me contiinue watching it and see what else she'll say about uSathane. Remember we are 47 min in, she has already been devalues, victimesed and abused and she nows herself the way he sees her. I am not surprised she is protecting him, DV victms do that.

Did that woman just say the prosecutor said she was using her tears to favour her case? the poor lady is blatantly being denied justice. At some point she was even asked by the prosecutor to withdraw her case? WHT!!! If the prosecutor is of the opinion that s/he the case is not worth prosecution he should issue a certificate to that effect to enable the complainant to pursue private prosecution. This is a standard procedure. The fact that she had been asked by the prosecutor to withdraw her case questions the credibility of the assigned prosecutor. He must have been threatened against the prosecution of the case because this is unacceptable. I really hope she get a good legal team on her side to push for a proper prosecution of her case. She should sue that guy for the injuries she has sustained attributable to that guy's conduct. the fact that a matter is being prosecuted does not bar her from proceeding with civil claims against him.

It has been three days that I have been trying to get through this interview because I really wanted to hear her story, unfortunately it was so incoherent that there are so many questions left unanswered. Another thing was her trying to make light of some moments but I think that was mostly for herself than for us the audience given that she blames herself. I would've liked for her to be more forthcoming but given that the case is still on going, it's probably for the best that she didn't divulge too much. I hope she gets better and that doctors can find a way to stop the progression of her brain injury.
