Thanks Phil. Ozzie has star quality alright. He will have to learn some new tricks for future videos tho, I am afraid his commando crawling is about the total of his repertoire.

Nicely done, both the cruise and the video! I enjoyed the editing. Not many small boat cruising videos take the time to include multiple POVs. Many thanks!

Thanks Chris. I am very grateful to my fellow sailors Gerard and Chris, for their footage. It does add a lot, as we see and capture different things. Glad you enjoyed the video. And yes, it was a great sail, it feels really wild and remote over that bit of the Bay.

Thankyou! Glad you liked it. A good expedition even if we didn't quite get to our goal. Next time!

Great Gary, thanks for sharing. It's good to see you stayed roughly together. We have a Hartley 14 and a Core sound 17 in our group and they leave everybody else for dead, as they are so fast.Thanks again ,cheers Paul

Thanks Paul. Sort of a parallel universe, having the same set of boats! Given the number of possible boat designs, what are the odds for that happening? Cheers, Gary

Just a little bit more wind than the previous trip to StKilda 😀. Nice outing. Thanks for the vid.

You're right. If only there was a way to spread it out a bit ... the average would be perfect.

Great to see local vessels heading to local destinations. Didnt know there was a Little River outlet to the bay
@garyhardy38102 жыл бұрын
Thanks Roman. Its been more than 20 years since I actually got into Little River from the Bay. I see we will need to plan our next expedition there more carefully, and time our arrival for a good high tide. Hope you have been getting out in that Sharpie. Cheers, Gary

That looked rather fresh at times!

Indeed it was! I shook out the reefs coming home, which seems a sure fire way to get the breeze to pick up.

I have to say, your crew looked a lot more keen on the return leg than on the outbound one!

He knows the routine by now, and you are right, he really perks up when he smells land coming up.

I love all the sounds from this. It got me to wondering if dogs ever get sea-sick?
@garyhardy38102 жыл бұрын
Thankyou! Yes, the sounds of sailing are a big part of the experience. It's weird when you get the wind and tide combination that makes everything go quiet. Re seasick dogs, there was the infamous aftermath of Oz eating some dodgy fish while I was rigging the boat one day, but on the whole I think he has pretty good sea legs. He always has a good appetite and wants my lunch. Don't know about other dogs.

Sitting in those swells eating lunch and I’d be sick as a, well you know, dog.

doggo PFD. good shipmate
@garyhardy38102 жыл бұрын
The doggo pdf has come in handy twice when the crew has jumped ship before we are tied up at the jetty properly. The handle on the back is essential for dog overboard drill, I don't know how else I could get 21 kilos of wet dog babk in the boat. I think he has learned to sit and wait till he is told to get out 🙂 Yes, he is a very good shipmate.

Hi Gary, one day the Dolphin will be ready to come along for the fantastic trips you are doing. Did you consider the tide so you could get into little river ?
@garyhardy38102 жыл бұрын
Yay Dolphin! High tide was 9.21 Tuesday, we got there round 11, hoping that might be enough. Next attempt will aim to coincide right on high and see if that works. I

Thanks Gary. You have a great intrepid group there, but I think the dog needs some camera awareness training!

Thanks Josh. I have spoken to him sternly about it, but the dog tries to hog the limelight every opportunity.

Where is this?
@garyhardy38102 жыл бұрын
It is at the mouth of Werribee River, where it enters into Port Phillip Bay in Victoria Australia. If you google maps "Werribee South Boat Ramp" it should come up.
