8:52 I'd say 3 is the only contender, but I see the argument for Sekiro and Elden Ring. Sekiro's world just doesn't stick with me, and Elden Ring is extremely inconsistent. People say Dark Souls 3's world is too grey and depressing, but I think the backgrounds, linear but tight and satisfying level design, and very consistent boss quality do more than make up for that. There aren't even that many grey areas; it's more blue with a bit of piss. Look at Irithyll, The Ringed City, the High Wall of Lothric and Lothric Castle, Smouldering Lake, Archdragon Peak, etc., and tell me it's grey. Sometimes it looks cold, but not overly so. I wouldn't even say it's darker than Dark Souls 1 with The Catacombs, Undead Parish, Tomb of the Giants, or The Duke's Archives.

Love the shout out so let me go further into what I said: On the MJ v BM I do agree with what you say but I still think Bruno's music in 20-30 will be remembered as fondly as MJ and personally I prefer Bruno. I do agree though that MJ as a performer is probably more iconic though.

I still stand by my Modern Baseball opinion though and I genuinely think there isn't even a contest. Maybe it's personal taste but I feel like modern baseballs music encapsulates all the appeal of emo in all its facets extremely well and writes music that's so catchy it's infectious and addicting. I literally can't stop listening from the moment I heard the first song, they encapsulate the coming of age so well in a manner which is charismatic, fun yet still hits you. Their albums are all perfectly placed with 2 distinct song writers who's opposing styles create synchronise perfectly. They can be heart breaking and angsty to the core but also songs like rock bottom show the excitement that comes in this age, showing its not all bad, something most emo bands just don't do. Most emo bands can come off a bit too woe is me while modern baseball actively recognise this feeling of being super emotional and therefore their music is far better.

And speaking of the video, one of the takes that stood out to me the most is the Peggy take as well as your take on Peggy. And while I admit it's difficult to hear how you feel about Peggy as a person and as a musician, I understand where you're coming from and even understand how you think about him. Because even with putting working with Kanye aside, being chronically online himself and him continuing to engage with fans who are chronically online like him is so overdone he needs to let that go 💀. Especially with how self-centered it makes Peggy along with his fans it'll keep changing up how he behaves with his fans along with as a person online. I do agree with your take on Lil Ugly Mane though. While I like Peggy more, both of them are goats to me. Also, one hot take I'd love to offer is that Peggy is a top 5 hip hop artist with a top 3 worst rap fanbase.

The TPAB take is awful and is 100% a Drake Glazer self-report [especially with the J Cole name drop]. Even ignoring the concept aspect of the album, the tracks are just fantastic stand alone - Wesley's Theory, For Free?, King Kunta, These Walls, u, Hood Politics, Alright, Momma, How Much A Dollar Cost, The Blacker The Berry, You Ain't Gotta Lie, and i are all wonderful outside the context of the album, Complexion I've softened on [Rhapsody's verse is the weakest part of the album imo, no disrespect, it just starts weak and has some awkward passages] but plenty of people still love it, Institutionalized is good just not my favorite. For Sale? and Mortal Man are the only songs I look at as being songs I would listen to only in the context of the entire album and they're still great. So you have an album with no misses on the tracklist, that covers a wide range of soundscapes, and uses those to tell an emotionally messy story. I think part of the problem is people don't listen to albums but instead make playlists. In that sense, GKMC has the catchier peaks and gets more tracks on playlists that way. Sitting down and listening to both all the way through back-to-back though, TPAB has better production, it's riskier, it's more emotional, it's more urgent, the storytelling within each song as well as track-to-track is more solid, the lyricism is more studied and layered, and it feels singular for lack of a better term. GKMC sounds like an amazing classic hip hop album, but it 'sounds like a classic' in the sense that its production evokes a specific time and place - primarily West Coast sounds of the 90s and 00s with some notes taken from trends in hip hop [Swimming Pools, B*tch, Don't Kill My Vibe] and some minor evolutions of those earlier sounds [Poetic Justice]. TPAB sounds timeless; if it came out today instead we would still say, "no one else is doing this in popular music right now". Immaculate album, best ever made thus far, still prefer [Ice, Death, Planets, Lungs, Mushrooms, and Lava; Caligula; Steve McQueen/Two Wheels Good; LP! (offline); brat] to it as albums for personal listening. It's okay to recognize something is wonderful while simultaneously enjoying other "less acclaimed" works more than it, you don't get points for being a contrarian.

Also that Howl's take is so bad. Like, why Howl's? I could understand Nausicaa or Totoro or Ponyo or Kiki or Porco [though Porco Russo is my favorite of his films, it goes so hard, I know that's personal bias speaking and people tend to rate it lower], but Howl's no chance. How do they think Howl has worse worldbuilding than Nausicaa, the movie that opens on an expo dump and continues giving expo dumps into the third act? I'm certain it's a troll, they would've said the same thing about Spirited Away if they knew it wouldn't get them doxxed and cancelled and put on a watchlist and boxed.

goldboy is indeed speaking facts, howls moving castle has some of the greatest film scores and breathtaking visuals as usual, but this is also the case with the other Miyazaki films. Spirited Away, The Wind Rises, The boy and the heron and so on has interesting concepts and substance going for them, while nothing about howl's moving castle struck a chord - it has great visuals, cute characters, a great score and nothing more
