A mixed bag of success for the panel. Kitty is great. Hy can get annoying along with Polly. But as always, these shows are fun to watch. Thanks for the video.

Wandered over here from the What's My Line? channel and found the grandmother of an acquaintance from high school on here: the champion archer, Jo McCubbins. Her kids and grand-kids also went on to compete in archery, but I can't recall at what level or to what success. Small world!

Sad to say, I looked her up to see if she was still living in Oregon, and found her husband's obituary from this past week. He was quite the character himself. democratherald.com/news/local/obituaries/frank-jay-neal-mccubbins/article_4d570a4a-a14f-5eb5-9782-d6a333da3d52.html

Johan Bengtsson Bennett Cerf would've loved that one! :) And apparently, that was the truth too, since Contestant #1 turned out to be the *real* Jo McCubbins!

SaveThe TPC I voted for No 1 because she knew what a crossbow was. Something I doubt the two others could have answered on that quickly. I admit I was surprised she didn't get any votes.

Funny and surrealistic conversation: 14:02 Hy: Who invented the submarine? Contestant #2: I don't really no the answer. (Kitty (softly): Jules Verne..) Polly: Jules Verne?!?

Johan Bengtsson Jules Verne was ahead of his time in his science fiction imaginings, but real submarines existed even before he wrote his famous novel, _20,000 Leagues Under the Sea_. According to Wikipedia, "The description of Nemo's ship, the Nautilus, was considered ahead of its time, as it accurately describes features on submarines, which at the time were very primitive vessels. Thus, the book has been able to age well because of its scientific theories, unlike some other of Verne's works, like _Journey to the Center of the Earth_, which are not scientifically accurate and serve more simply as adventure novels."

I knew the sub commander was #2 from the time they appeared up top because he had a 5 o'clock shadow and submarine men are the only service men allowed to wear beards.

Champion archer contestant three gave herself away during the affidavit when she laughed as Collyer mentioned she was a poodle nail clipper. It is an amusing thing to say, but the humor of it goes away when it's what you do for a significant amount of time.
