The “Mr. President” reference made to Bud by Conrad was because Bud was just elected president of AFTRA, the television and radio actors union. (As we discover during the third segment). Bud, of course, played Superman for years on radio.
@amberola1b4 жыл бұрын
Damn, I didn't know that was him. I love the radio version of Superman when I listen to it on the internet. Now when I hear him speak in this show I can hear his Superman voice. Cracks me up how he goes from sounding like meek mild Clark Kent to the deeper voice of the man of steel. Lol.

It IS a very difficult, I totally agree. And believe it or not, a remake of TTTT just aired on ABC very recently, but by all reports, it was absolutely terrible!

I only saw the first season and that was it. I thought Anthony Anderson as host was okay. Betty White was fine. On the whole, I felt they took the panel show I knew and loved and changed it into a late-night talk show. I really kind of hated the scorekeeper. I mean, there was really no need for her there.

Sorry to get on an "linguistic jag" here, but I'm wondering whether Bud Collyer's family was originally Dutch, as "Hermans" and "Heermans" are not uncommon Dutch names, and it seems that "Heermance" may have been an Anglicised version thereof.

Since Contestant # 1 in Game # 1 worked for the United Nations, I'm very surprised that he did not know that Swahili is the most widely-spoken language of East Africa. (I also thought it would have been wise of the panelists to ask them what their native language was, as only the real Babatunde Olatunji was actually from Nigeria.)
@sambac2053 Жыл бұрын
But the Swahili are a tribe . The language is rooted in Bantu , which is a large family of languages, like Latin languages in Europe, was used asca trade language by Arabs, then Portugese, Brits, so lot’s of loan words

With respect to the third game. Kitty is right when she says she has known Bud a long time. They dated early in their professional careers. To give the third game a modern Jerry Springer twist, after Bud's real brother is revealed, one of the other two should have admitted he is Bud's brother too - the product of an illicit one night-stand Bud's mother never told him about.
