The tiny light is because the LiDAR doesn’t work correctly with a bright light so make sure to turn off the bright light before the bed leveling and initial tests are done

As well as low reflectivity, a surface angled such that the energy is not directed back to the sensor also makes an object harder to detect; another factor is background “noise”-that is, light from sources other than the lidar beam, such as the sun or bright artificial lights that can swamp the reflected beam, making it difficult for the lidar to detect the true range.

The smart features are cool and something i cant wait to see hit the voron and vzbot. Granted we do have input shaper on all klipper based printers which helps with the vibration. We also have the ERCF so that covers the muli filament. As for bed calibration we have a lot of options for bed leveling. So that leaves Lidar...

@daliasprints9798
@daliasprints9798 2 жыл бұрын
It is, but it should be fixable on the gcode side. They seem to have just picked really conservative parameters that err on the side of wasting lots of time and filament vs risking incomplete purge, but I think with some tuning you could vastly improve that. OTOH a lot of the appeal of this printer is supposed to be not having to tinker to get stuff right...
@Martial-Mat
@Martial-Mat 2 жыл бұрын
@@daliasprints9798 Fair points. Given that it uses bespoke software, I very much hope that the change is a simple feature of the software.
@No0o0o0o0o0
@No0o0o0o0o0 2 жыл бұрын
@@Martial-Mat The software is open source (on git hub too)and based on Prusa slicer (which is based on Slic3r). The filament purge can be adjusted in the Bambu studio slicer. It's called flushing volumes and right next to filament section. default is 280mm but can be easily adjusted. If there is 335meters in a 1kg roll then its about 0.28meters per filament change on default. Source: I have the printer and AMS.
@Martial-Mat
@Martial-Mat 2 жыл бұрын
@@No0o0o0o0o0 Thanks for that. The amount of filament change would surely depend upon how many times the colour needs changing?
@No0o0o0o0o0
@No0o0o0o0o0 2 жыл бұрын
@@Martial-Mat Yup, and depending on the model you can have multiple filament changes per layer and even a "purge /flush into infill" wont be able to keep up and you will have waste, and a purge tower. Of course with the conservative 280mm settings it is less likely to have color bleed when switching filament. It's usually much faster to print in a standard color and paint after post processing. That model would take about 2hrs 15min if done in a single color at .2mm layer height and .4 nozzle. Her version takes 10hrs. Also the speeds are percentage based. silent 50% standard 100% Sport% 124% Ludicrous 166% So there is a way to speed some things up but once the color changes happen its about a 1-2min for the color change. There is another neat thing you can do if you have filament of a similar print temp like PLA/petg and tpu. IE. You can mix a figure with rigid torso and flexible limbs. Or you can have break away filament for supports. I rarely print in multiple colors/materials unless I am making multiple similar items on the build plate.
