Gen-X here. Trim around the house and let the wildlife have the rest!

Those are lightning bugs my friend!! 😊 Love your videos!! We have to mow year round here in south Texas where I live. It's right next to Jurassic Park! 🤠✌️

My husband is a mower, but I'm a grower! I love it when my yard looks like a meadow.

New subscriber as of today! Boomer baby that keeps his place like you. trimmed near the house and lets the wildlife have the rest except some brush hogging a couple of times a year, By the way your wife has good taste, take that how ever you like.

Plant native plants and wildflowers. They are beautiful and they keep water in the soil while providing habitat for animals and insects.

X- Because of HOA we have to keep it trimmed but, we try to let it grow some before actually cutting it.

My husband and I are boomers. Our yard is mostly wild. But we only have a half acre inside city limits. Fortunately our town is pretty lenient. No HOA, thank goodness! We do enough to keep neighbors from getting upset with us.

GenX, trim for foot traffic only and dogs' area. My dad trimmed every square inch and all trees and bushes yearly.

I live half an hour east of Austin, and most of our 3 acres are full wild. Like never been cut. We have an area out back of the house for that. But I'm also a forager, so keeping things natural encourages native plants to grow. I'm GenX. My parents were/are silent generation, and we kept an acre around the house cut like a lawn, but the 10 acres behind the yard were wild coastal plains pasture, parts of it were cut by some random neighbor, for hay about once a year. We didn't charge them for it, we weren't using that grass for anything anyway.

Wildlife biologist by traininng and firm Gen-X. I live in the country, in part so I don;t have to mow. I let the geese have at it. plenty of graze for them. We try to trim the whole place a couple of times a year, ater blooming times for the different natives. We used to be a stopping point for the Moarch migration, but one of the local fields started spraying about that time and I think the butterflies got the hard end of that. Haven't seen them in about 5 years. Trim around the house, but no shorter than 3 inches, and your land will thank you. Leave the rest to grow wild and over seed with native wildflowers (Ladybird Johnson's legacy) that you can get from quite a few places, and you'll have critters ranging from butterflies and lightning bugs to rabbits, deer, and three species of native dove.

Boomer in a rural area. I let my trees grow wild with minimal trimming but try to keep yard mowed due to my dogs and the worry of snakes. I delay mowing in the spring so the bees and other pollinators can do their thing.

We let it grow out, even though my boomer MNL gets mad about it bc it looks unkempt. Xennials here!!

No! Not generational. I am a boomer and my land is a wildlife refuge. The guy next door that is so into mowing that he does it in front of my fence is younger than me. Snakes don't care if the grass is mowed or not.
