Trust me - MAYO WORKS. I was dubious too, so I tested with and without, side by side. It's a restaurant secret taught to me by an English Chef which he picked up from working in pubs and restaurants back in the UK.

Asked the kids if they wanted this or sausage sizzle. It was close, but toad in the hole won out. Made this recipe, and it was totally worth the extra effort. The batter fluffed up really well and was so light and crispy. Delish!!

That mayo trick is genius! Added some to a different yorkshire pudding recipe and it definitely prevented shrinkage after they came out of the oven.

I love Toads in the Hole and other traditional English foods. Finding a good sausage is key and my friend's English mother always said mix your batter until it sounds like a galloping horse.

Wait it releases today? I've had mine for 10 days 😂. I've already made the Chicken Satay, Swedish meatballs, cornbread muffins and Naan. They were all delicious!
