a Kirby horror game could work very well actually because: 1) the official games often have creepy/disturbing character designs/story's 2) it would work well because of the contrast principle 3) Popstar has a very dreamlike look to it so it can easaly be turned into something nightmarish and/or liminal 4) there exists a lot of source material that has the potential for a horror game (Dark Matter and Zero, King Dedede stealing all the food, literal "dark" versions existing of pretty much every character, Popstar being terraformed by HAL and Queen Sectonia)

Literally all of the Dark Matter bosses are depicted as basically being demons, requiring special celestial weapons (such as the star rod, the crystal shards, etc) to harm, while you also have bosses like Meta Knight who wanted to become a dictator just because he thought people being relaxed and happy was a bad thing, and Marx who is a literal clown, yet who got the sun and the moon to fight just to dupe Kirby, the destroyer of worlds, into getting him his ticket to godhood, only for Kirby to emotionlessly kill him without hesitation, no sense of betrayal, no disbelief or questioning of why Marx is doing this, just Kirby seeing Marx' treachery and automatically, coldly, seamlessly making the choice to put him out after he reveals his true colors.

There's also zero who pulls his eye out to try and finish you of, there's zero two the angle with wings of blood that rains tears of blood, there's magalor who had to suffer through the crown's torment and his soul form has him scream for help before falling into darkness, there's sectonia who's a once a fair queen but turns into the psychopath obsess with beauty, there's haltman which is enough said seriously his backstory is tragic and dark, there's hyness who was a kind ancient but got corrupted by the dark hearts, there's void again enough said but this time beacuse it's lore dumb, and there's morpho knight which doesn't look like horror material until you realised that it can just absorb you at any moment

Said media is called TMK, and it's a Kirby analog horror series made by Maple Riot. I haven't watched it yet, but it's kinda cool.
