The way my mom explained it to me when I was young was that the doctor has to "cut it open" to get the baby out, obviously referring to a c-section. I didn't know what a c-section was back then, so I thought she meant that that the doctor cuts the stomach open and takes the baby out. And also that they're just really good at hiding the scar.

For the longest time I thought when someone was pregnant, doctors would just cut open the belly and took the baby out. I thought that because my mon had a scar on her stomach. And one of my relatives had a baby and my mom told me that the doctors cut the belly open and took the baby out(I didn’t know that relative had a cesarean delivery). So 5 year old me thought "Oh, my mom also has a scar on her belly so that is how babies were born." Much much later I found out that the scar on my moms belly was a scar from an operation for removing some "stones" from her belly(IDK the proper medical term). And until like 1.5 years ago I found out that babies come from vagina and *NOT* doctors cutting your stomach and getting the baby out. My friend also thought the same until I told him like 8 months ago. But tbh I can see why a lot of people in my class thought this cause Biology was a subject that only the students who picked Science as thier main subject would get. So people who didn’t picked Science(I didn’t) would not get Biology subject at all. And even when you *did* get Biology there were little to no Sex ED, so it was pretty much useless. The friend I mentioned he had Biology didn’t know where babies came from. And none of me or my friends got *ANY* kind of Sex ED from our parents. So most of us learned where babies came from Pron,Google,Random comment section and Online Articles.
