so simple but so useful! hopefully you know you can flame polish that cut edge as well? saves a huge amount of wet sanding!

Yeah, I've also used a hand plane on plastics with good results, haven't tried it on ABS yet but I don't see why it wouldn't work.

Me too, I bought them second-hand but unused and they are very helpful, much easier and better than trying to accomplish the same thing with a piece of wood supported on one end and screwed down in the middle.

Nice cooling method :D I take it there's little or no spring back? I'm guessing that's a cam for something, something moving round that arc?

i think i see where this is going! could be totally wrong though. my thought is the abs you're molding will be teeth on some sort of ratchet, timing mechanism, and the conduit will be the housing that spins it.

I think with the shape of those wedges and the other curved metal parts then it's going to be a capstan table mark II
