In my 56 years, I don't believe I've ever found so much super natural sound and emotional feelings in any band like I have in TOBACCO and BMSR, both helped me get through my mom's death last year... as far as I'll ever get, anyway. I've seen both bands here in Louisville, always amazing!

Was anyone else in the special Chatroulette performance he did years ago? He was ultimately supposed to play for one fan (and eventually he did), but for about an hour he would “next” people so you’d end up fan to fan, and every few nexts you’d come back to him setting up his equipment and doing weird shit, like dangling a spider in front of the camera. There was probably only 20 of us that got accepted into the group (the first 20-30 were all that was allowed in) and funny enough, two of the others I’d come across frequently were friends of mine from BG, KY. Watching this made that memory of mine revive - how I could have ever forgotten this, I’ll never know!

Saw BMSR in Miami at The Stage touring for 'Cobra Juicy', and their live tone is so much more dense and crushing than what translates to a record. Tom, and everybody else were SO approachable and humble, it was hard not to gush about how they made me reevaluate texture in music. Also, Chris Iffernaut is SUCH a stellar drummer. There's not much glitz thrown around, but she has such a flawless meter, it's very Ringo-like.

This is the first time I’ve ever seen him. I came upon his music a few months ago, after being in a dark funk about the unlistenable shit being passed off as music in 2021. Huge fan of Aesop Rock, and after seeing “Tobacco” come up under so many song titles, I decided to work my way backwards through his discography. At the time I didn’t know that Malibu Ken was their duo. After one listen to Fucked Up Friends 3, I was… mesmerized. Heard them all, stuck on Hot Wet and Sassy. I have a nostalgic love for analog production, eyes glued to the screen the whole time. Love this guy. There’s seriously nothing else on my playlist. Very grateful for this performance, cool to get some perspective.
