Really good comparison for these two microphones. I am not an audio expert but it sounds like the Fifine is not picking up mid tones as much as the Maono, which leads to a more hollow sound (Maono sounds richer)
@TobiasHolenstein2 жыл бұрын
Yeah I'm not really sure when it comes to the mid frequencies, it's hard for me to tell which one was better with the mids haha. I kind of felt like the fifine may have had some more of the low mid frequencies, which could possibly give that undesired hollow or boxy sound, but yeah I also think the Maono sounds richer

Hi Tobias! Would you know a shock mount that fits the Maono mic? Didn’t hear the vibrations using my headset but heard it on my earbuds. I really like this mic and I guess getting a shock mount while on a boom arm will seal the deal for me. I’d really like to know if it uses 5/8 or 3/8 adaptor. Thanks man! I just subscribed, you really love the Maonos! 🤭

I would recommend you to test the microphone with quality headphones (face to face in isolated box) on sequences of bass guitar and drums for example Queen (40-59 sec) in the epic piece "I want to break free". You will be very surprised because many so-called studio microphones sound very muddy and boomy.. Regards

@mahinahmed73202 жыл бұрын
@@063ponmanik7 depends on what you are going to use it for. I personally use this one for voice chats (discord/zoom/games) and it's good enough. It's also do-able for voice-overs. But if you want to do music, I'd recommend you buy something a bit more expensive because the high frequency response on the mics in this budget is not good. I'd highly recommend a fifine k678 which is like 85$ where I live. Otherwise, for a beginner like myself, it's definitely a good upgrade over my headset mic.

Hi Tobias, thank you so much for your reviews, they are very helpful !! i have a question about the maono pm401 microphone: they say that the headphone volume is very loud when you plug your headphones into the 3.5mm jack of the mic and there is no way to adjust it, so i want to know if i can do that through sofware ? If not, can i get the zero latency monitoring by Plugging the headphones to the computer and adjust it? And does changing the mic gain through software change the monitoring volume on your headphones ? Sorry for the long question and THANK YOU so much for your reviews
@TobiasHolenstein2 жыл бұрын
Glad I could help! For the PM401, that is correct, there is no way to adjust the volume that comes out of the 3.5mm headphone jack. You can monitor the audio through your software, but I don't think it will truly be 0 latency monitoring. Personally, I've plugged my headphones into my computer and monitored the PM401 in Logic Pro, and to me it sounds like 0 latency monitoring. There isn't a noticeable delay at all, but when it comes down to it, technically, I don't think it's actually 0 latency when you monitor it through your software, but it has to be pretty close. Does that make sense?
@abderrahmanelhanouni88872 жыл бұрын
@@TobiasHolenstein Thank you for your response man Yes, it does make sense. So, for recording on a Ipad pro: since you can't monitor directly from the ipad, the headphone's Volume Knob is necessary for adjustment, right ?

idk but regardless of the price, the mics u reviewed still sound great but when I have my maono pm422, my mic does not sound crisp and good quality unlike how reviewed the maono au-pm461tr. I get a lot of hiss. What do you think is the problem?
@TobiasHolenstein2 жыл бұрын
Hmm that's strange, I don't think the pm422 should be getting a hiss like that. I've never tested the pm422 but I think it should be similar to my pm421. I'm not sure if you want to check but I'm curious if your pm422 has the ALC4042 chip. If you unscrew the bottom of your mic you should be able to take a peak inside and get a glimpse of the chip which will probably say ALC and then 4 numbers, which may or may not be 4042. The reason I'm curious is because some of the Maono A04's manufactured in 2020 got a new chip, which apparently made the microphone sound really bad and I'm wondering if the same thing may have happened to the pm422

So I'm not 100% sure, but I am pretty sure that the different letters at the end of 461 just represents the stand that they come on. For example pm461tr stands for tripod stand, 461t stands for table stand, pm461ts comes with the tripod stand and wind screen, etc

Which mic is better for male singer (only for singing )Au-pm461 tr or Au- a04... ?plz help me find out.
@TobiasHolenstein2 жыл бұрын
So as for right now, I'm not sure that I would recommend the A04 just because I've been hearing that some people are still getting a different chipset in the A04. Long story short, during some part of 2020 a lot of A04's were produced with a different chip, which resulted in poorer sounding audio. So until we are able to confirm that they have gone back to the old chipset, I wouldn't recommend the A04. I don't think the PM421TR has been affected, so that is probably the one I would recommend going for.
