Is there a way to use this if you run a panel in front of the screen like air Manager?
@WatchMysh3 ай бұрын
@@pgreenx as long as the tracker can see your eyes it should work
@pgreenx3 ай бұрын
@@WatchMysh not sure you understand. The gauge panel is in front of the lower portion of the monitor. Your review should mention this because once you buy the tobi you are precluded from EVER using any kind of gauge panel which is a big problem. Or If you buy a gauge panel the tobi becomes useless.
@WatchMysh3 ай бұрын
@@pgreenx In the review I explain that the Tobii has to be mounted on the bottom of the screen. If something blocks it it doesnt work obviously. Didn't think of any panels, though. Maybe move it a bit further to the front? My Streamdeck also doesnt block it.
@pgreenx3 ай бұрын
@@WatchMysh an air manager panel or say g1000 would be a deal breaker. Much higher than a flat stream deck. It’s worth making a comment and pinning to the top since many have these panels and the tobi would be useless. Especially since yours is an honest no strings attached review and NO one else mentions this.

I purchased the Tobii a couple weeks ago on your recommendation and yes it's pricey, but damn it's nice not having to mess with a headphone clip. The eye tracking setup is a breeze. The Tobii works great on my 32" triple monitors with MSFS 2020. I can turn 180° with no issues. I'm using NVIDIA Surround. IMO, not dealing with a headphone clip is worth the extra price. Amazon ran a 20% coupon and I used Amazon Reward points, so I only paid $225 😁

Hey, I'm really NOT interested in spending a lot of time in settings. I have a life! Can you tell me if this is a good option for avoiding the constant tweaking of the freewares and beam?
@WatchMysh2 ай бұрын
I'd say the Tobii works quite well out of the box for a lot of games and the interface is better than most of the free stuff if you have to tweak some settings. Head tracking always involves some messing around with the settings, but I think the Tobii is one of the least annoying options. If it's still too time consuming you can always send it back and get a refund.

No strings attached means: no editorial control, no influcence on the outcome, no sponsored money, no contract. The difference to sponsored is: Most other reviews that received the tracker for free were sponsored ones. They disclose this fact during their videos. It means they get the tracker and compensation. I'm not relying on free hardware. My channel isnt my main source of income. So I don't care whether I get sent stuff or not.

For reliable Eye tracking, I have to be 26 inches from the sensor, and for head tracking, it's a lot more. I can walk into my room, and it will track me from at least 5 ft away, but for your head, it's best within 3 feet..

The problem is when someone gets something for free you feel like you should leave or do a good review. Amazon stopped people from doing this because it’s not a real review. The question is if you spent 250 dollars on this would it still be worth it? You wouldn’t know because you didn’t buy it.
@WatchMyshАй бұрын
@@bwest0411 let me explain it like that: in the beginning it's exciting to get new stuff, later on it's just a job. I don't feel the need to "give sth back" anymore. The free exposition is worth 10x more than just the price of the product. After testing sth I totally know if I'd buy it because well... If tested is. To answer your question: I'd buy the Tobii if money was no problem at all. It's a quality product. In any other case I'd get the Trackhat v2 since it does the head tracking good enough and I personally don't really need the eye tracking.

BUYER BEWARE!!!! I would watch out, THIS PRODUCT IS SHIT. Seriously 3-5 hours of setup every time there's ANY changes to your computer. Uninstall reinstall uninstall, reboot, clear the files, reboot again, manually download driver. Uninstall again. ON and ON every single windows update, or even a small driver update. I have had this tracker since early 2024, I have used in maybe 3 hours where it worked. Usually I cant be bothered to go through this process every time I want to use it. So I just don't. Even Tobii themselves recommend literally 3rd party software like REVO uninstaller to clear this off your PC. Because its so deeply rooted once installed, that even a trace of the old installation file, will jeopardize the new installation attempt. BUYER BEWARE!!!!
